“ideal for short driving visit to Pisa”
location not the prettiest but only short walk to tower and town centre and short drive from airport with good car parking. all hotel amenities fine and good breakfast.
“Good value - we will return!”
We were disappointed when we viewed the location of this hotel on Google street view - it looks awful. But don't be put off. The location, although urban, is good for the Piaza Miracoli and the tower is only a short taxi ride from the airport. It is also not far from the main railway station and we took the train to Florence - easy effiicient and cheap. Despite the Hotel's loctation next to an underpass and near to the railway line it is remarkably quiet. The Hotel itself is clean and modern with good helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and have quiet air conditioning. Breakfast buffet is of a high standard. All in all a great hotel for a short stay and we would happily return in the future
“Great hotel”
Grand Hotel Bonanno is a great hotel the only slight downside is that it takes a ten minute walk to any attractions. This was fine for me as I enjoy walking but if I had been on my own I would have preferred a different location as the only way was under a dark underpass. It seemed safe but still not the best if you are a woman on your own as the lights in the underpass were not good. Otherwise I can`t fault the hotel. Nice rooms and good food for a very good price. Would stay there again.
“Good hotel in a good location, will go back”
Stayed one night travelling through Pisa. Good location, only a ten mintue walk to the tower and a good pizza restarunt nearby where we ate since we were quite late arriving. Room was fine and breakfast was great, sitting outside on the terrace. We could have used better directions when leaving the hotel from the staff as we soon got lost (again). Tip - we arrived after dark and having never been to Italy before, we got horribly lost finding the hotel. The drivers were unforgiving, the streets poorly lit and we went down a few one way streets the wrong way.Perhaps better to take a taxi and pick up the car in daylight. Note this is not the hotel's fault at all as they are conviently located when you find it. It is just my poor driving that was the problem. We recommend this hotel while staying in Pisa.
“Very handy for Tower!”
Very east to find, staff extremely helpful, breakfast excellent and a ten minute walk to Tower.
“Difficult to find a negative comment”
The hotel is very convenient to the main historical centre including leaning tower. To walk to the bus and train station around 18minutes , if this fails to appeal a number 5 bus is conveient to the hotel. The hotel provided a limited but excellent and wine. The staff at reception were excellent as with the support staff. The waiters in the restaurant were very helpful and welcoming. We even used to get a friendly wave from the chef.We used the tour bus and that will give you a good idea of the area layout and help you find your way round. We also used the buses to visit little towns and the train to go the Florence for the day, neither are expensive.
“Good choice but don't expect a view!”
A very nice hotel for families in Pisa. We booked two inter-connecting rooms and received a very warm welcome on arrival. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable and staff were very helpful. The location is good as the area is quiet and only a 10 minute walk from the leaning tower however from our rooms at the front of the hotel the view is very industrial (concrete underpass, railway lines and warehouses). Breakfast was very good and when the hotel were unable to get a taxi for us they gave us a lift to the railway station which was very kind of them. Word of warning while at breakfast a small sum of money did go missing from our room. We informed the hotel and the staff did take the matter very seriously, checked room key logs and gave us directions to the local police station etc. This wouldn't put me off staying again but if we do I will use the room safe they provide
“A place to stay in Pisa”
Stayed for 11 nights, superb hotel, staff exceptional, friendly, helpful and very efficient. We ate in the restaurant on a couple of occasions, food excellent and inexpensive.A good base to stay to see Pisa and the surrounding area.Would highly recommend this hotel.
“Hope to return soon”
Very pleasant hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room - very quiet, even though it was on the first floor, roadside. Good buffet breakfast. Good location, close to Tower and the bus route from airport, and a short walk into Pisa centre. Only downside was the underpass walk under the railway line to get into town.
“Great hotel, good location.”
The hotel was great. It is a modern hotel with free parking around the back. It is next to the railway tracks but this did not cause us any problem at all. It is a short walk, less than 10 minutes to the Dumo and Leaning Tower. The rooms are really nice and very comfortable. The staff are excellent. Breakfast was great, all inlcuded in the price. Choice of jucies, cereals, yogurt, breads, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage etc etc etc. They also have a small dinner menu which we did not try since we were so close to the town and liked to go out. An very important for Italy the hotel is located outside of the Limited Traffic Zone, so you dont need to a pass to get there.

Area:
Pisa, Italy: Many churches, bridges and fading palazzi adorn this ancient maritime city, but most visitors have eyes for just one building. Pisas famous Torre Pendente (Leaning Tower) seems to defy the laws of physics, which Galileo tested with weights dropped from its summit. Even without its recently stabilized tilt, this marble bell-tower would be an architectural marvel. Two ornate pulpits are highlights of the Duomo and Baptistery nearby.
