"The Hotel is beautiful. However, our coffee wasn't refilled by the cleaning crew. We had to leave for Whale tour, therefore we didnt have time to ask for it. Electric vehicle chargers are only outlets and you need to bring your own charging cable. Obviously, when renting a car, you do not have that. These have created some inconvenience for us. Overall, the stay was pleasant and we will return but w/o an electric car. "

"Older “Inn” but clean and had “old world charm”. Well located so we could park and walk all over Carmel. Everything was clean and front desk people were friendly and helpful. Flowers were beautiful in their courtyard!"

"Its a nicely appointed clean and lovely location and room. However, there are 2 flights of stairs to navigate so its not for anyone who has trouble with stairs. The property may have other rooms with no stairs (on the lower floor) but I can't confirm that. Otherwise it was great location, we also ate in their restaurant and the food was excellent"

"We were very disappointed this time to see the condition of the hotel with plastic tarp on the roof. Very old now need some updating. And the front office so sad to see that it has turned into shelves of books instead of the sweet little breakfast nook at once was."

"What a delightful surprise the Wayside Inn has been! Lovely, spacious, updated room comfortably appointed, and with great beds and pillows. It’s in a terrific location, close to everything, but quiet, too. We got a restful nights sleep before hitting the stores and restaurants. I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Carmel and will also recommend this wonderful hotel to my friends. "

The staff are so kind, the facility is updated, with nicely appointed decor, clean, well-laid out rooms, and a delicious breakfast delivered by request! "The staff was very helpful, gave us a lot of suggestions to local food and drinks. The location was brilliant, right next to downtown Carmel and 8min walk to beach. They also serve breakfast to your door around 8 am daily, which is delicious and has balanced ingredients. My only complaint is the soundproofing was poor, you can easily hear the voice in the next room. Fortunately everyone was mostly quiet during my stay."
