“Excellent Inn & awesome location”

Great room, had beautiful fireplace, comfortable bed, great service with restaurant on property that was excellent & nice bar. Carmel is beautiful place,

“Skip the buffet breakfast...”

Bell staff were efficient and friendly. There are no elevators, but bell staff handled getting all bags upstairs to the room. Room was comfortable, lobby VERY red! On-site restaurant was excellent for dinner with interesting entrees and wonderful wait staff, but breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired - we wound up going down the street to a nearby bakery for breakfast after seeing the dry scrambled eggs and greasy bacon on the buffet.

“Pleasantly Surprised”

I booked the hotel on-line because it was close to my son's college, not being familiar with San Francisco except for the Union Square area. After I booked it, I read that the hotel "smelled" and that it was nice for a 'cheap" hotel. So we were a bit nervous. It turned out to be a lovely place and the location couldn't have been better for us. It was in the middle of everywhere we wanted or needed to go and right across the street from City Hall. The staff was courteous and friendly. The lobby was very pretty as were the rooms. It even had a Starbucks in the lobby. The rates were reasonable and we saw many families there. We will certainly stay there again when visiting the city.
