"Friendly helpful staff. Building is old and in need of a lot of TLC. Sheets were clean and of good quality. Beds are extremely uncomfortable, at least in our room. Saggy, thin mattress. Can’t beat the location, very central. Noisy, because we are on the Main Street a lot of noise carries up. Walls are thin, you can hear loud voices and the shower on the next room. Overall a decent stay. It doesn’t advertise as a luxury room. For the price it was ok. Can’t beat the location."

"The Cardiff Arms Bistro was fantastic. Darren booked me in and showed me to my room. It was clean spacious and very modern. Went downstairs for something to eat, had the steak which was very reasonably priced, paid compliments to the chef. Slept like a baby on a very comfortable bed. The only thing i could moan about was that didn't get my greggs voucher, but saying that if my stay is as good as that every time, I will let them off. Well done Darren and staff, keep up the good work."

"First the bad bits-its past history as an hostel clearly shows, especially when you notice staff only inhabit the property, thrice daily before leaving, causing mess to linger for upto six hours. "First, the level of communication and correspondence I got from booking this property was piss poor. I did get barrages of messages for different things. From verifying my identity to being charged different fees to being bugged with different messages saying I have to check in between 4pm and 7pm anything after that, I will get charged £60 extra. They'd stated they charge an additional deposit of £750 but charged a deposit of £500 and extra £75 for the hot tub, which they refused to refund even...

"We were in the area visiting relatives and needed somewhere to stay the night which was reasonably priced, although it wasn't particularly cheap, it was convenient and clean, and the chap in reception was very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel at home, all in all, it worked out well, we would stay again if the occasion arose."
