This hotel is only ten minutes from Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil. The staff were very friendly and we were fortunate to get a family room which gave us lots of space. We stayed three nights. The breakfasts were very good. We also ate dinner on two occasions. Once from the set menu and once a la carte. The food was excellent.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Towels were changed daily.
Me and a friend travelled through Wales over Christmas and stayed still this Hotel which is basic in style but the owners went out of their way to look after us over Christmas. With an excellent big breakfast to organising Christmas Day lunch which was 7 courses. Also Jim and Julie invited us to the local rugby club where they had a Boxing Day bash with a band and local artist. It was fun and welcoming. treochy itself is charming and it had amazing walks along streams and through the forest. I would go back in the Summer. The rooms were nice and warm and nothing was a bother to Julie and Jim. Also over Christmas every house is decorated with a theme very lovely. For a population if 200 this town is lovely.
Very reasonably priced and comfortable hotel, lovely staff. We stayed for 2 nights whilst we visited Brecon Mountain Railways nearby, Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and the beautiful Rhondda Valley. The bed was very comfortable, lovely bathroom, TV, tea/coffee making, wifi. Very slight negative comments - could have done with a small table on both sides of the bed (there was only one) to put book or glass of water, and bathroom doors were a bit tricky to open so you had to give them a push - noisy in the middle of the night (Room 211). Lovely and clean throughout and we used the restaurant both nights. It is very popular and busy but we were given excellent service each evening. A real gem.

Only an overnight stop here but we stayed in one of the cottage rooms at the rear of the property in the converted stables. Very quaint and comfortable. Only complaint the noisy neighbours through thin walls but overall very good. Excellent service and a good quality breakfast menu. Will definitely come back when visiting this way again.

An excellent venue for Cardiff and attractions around like St Fagans and National Trust sites. We were warmly welcomed and the oven meant meals could easily be cooked from M&S nearby though the Italian nearby was also serving excellent food. Excellent breakfast too.
