The Ibis is located an easy walking distance to the Mall of the Emirates, which also has a Metro stop. The Metro is an easy and efficient way to get around Dubai.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. The lobby area has a bar and a cafe/restaurant. The Ibis is connected to the Novotel next door, so one can also access the Novotel restaurant. The reception staff asked if we were interested in some tours. We did book two tours - a half day city sightseeing tour and the evening desert safari tour - both of which were excellent and good value.
The Mall of the Emirates is an amazing shopping and entertainment centre and it's hard not to get lost once one is inside!

Ibis Mall of The Emirates is located on Sheikh Zayed Road, next to Mall of the Emirates & Ski Dubai. It is only a short drive …More
Excellent hotel and staff. Very clean and helpful staff.
Only negative feedback would be the buffet breakfast does need more selection (hot food is minimal)
But overall a very good stay and would recommend excellent Shisha place within a few minutes walk.
I've been to Dubai before but this time I wasn't going to have a lot of down time so my needs were simple. Comfy room, breakfast, free internet and free car parking.
The Holiday Inn supplied all of these. I arrived tired and was told to park in the underground car park which, although isn't designed for large vehicles, is free. The staff saw I was tired and help speed things through check-in, even arranging for an iron and ironing board for me.
The room was fairly spacious and comfy, especially the bed where you had a choice of soft and firm pillows. Wireless internet was free, although you should check as my reservation said it wasn't.
Breakfast was pretty good but they rotate the hot food every other day so if you're there for 6 days you will see the same hot food every second day!
Its easy to get food delivered to the hotel, plus just across the street is a subway and Domino's pizza for those times when all you want is to chill out in the comfort of your room.
Probably the thing I remember most was actually the guard at the car park barrier as he always leaned out the window with a massive smile and a loud hello, and believe me, after a tough work day a small welcome like that can't help but bring a smile to your face.
I really can't fault the hotel at all as I got a great flight / hotel rate through Expedia that I couldn't touch anywhere else. Would I stay there again, of course!.
The location of Arabian Ranches Golf Club is about 30 minutes by car from most of the places one might reasonable wish to visit, from the airport to Dubai Marina to The Creek, and including all the Malls from Ibn Battuta to Irdif, and including Emirates Mall and Dubai Mall. Malls are more than simply shops, they are experiences of Dubai, with restaurants, skiing, iconic buildings such as Burj Khalifa.
It isn't necessary to play golf to stay at the Golf Club, but it made me think about picking up some clubs and having another go.
The room - 110 - was a good size with an excellent en-suite bathroom, and a view over the golf course. The free broadband was reliable, if a tad slow.
The restaurant was very good - breakfast especially was excellent.
You really need a car to stay at the hotel, though taxis are nearby and not expensive, and there is a regular bus service from Arabian Ranches to the Emirates Mall metro stop, which then opens up all other areas of Dubai, except Palm Jumeirah, which has a completely separate monorail system.
Staff at the hotel were all most professional, cheerful and helpful - I couldn't fault them.
No real negatives about the Golf Club - it would have been nice to have had access to a swimming pool - but it IS a golf club after all!
My second time at the hotel, this time on my honeymoon, did not disappoint me or my wife. The hotel location and condition are outstanding and the staff are so friendly and helpful - the price was worth every penny and being able to make reservations and prepay on line with Expedia very convenient! However, I was sorry the breakfast buffet was no longer available - that used to also be very good value and I hope it will be restored. Next time I visit Dubai for sure I will be back to the Falcon!
