Our room tariff included airport transfers. The vehicle promptly picked us up at the airport. Check in was efficient and smooth. We were permitted an early check in with no extra charge. I had booked a suite but was given a large bedroom with a good sized balcony. The plate outside the room mentioned that it was a suite which should have a separate bedroom and living room. At one end of the room was a tiny table and 2 chairs. So this definitely was NOT a suite by any definition. I didn't want to start off my week-long holiday arguing with the staff considering I saw the room plate and I realized there was no point. The hotel entrance is pretty dated and we didn't get any 5* hotel feeling at all. Initially we were very disappointed but after Day 1 we got used to the place. The suite front doors face the main road which could be noisy but not bad. The balcony faced the sea so that was lovely. This is a beach side property so that's a huge plus. Though the hotel has a spa across the street i used the masseuses on the beach at 500THB for a deep tissue massage. There is no shuttle service to town which is a 10 minute walk. All along the walk and in town there are plenty of restaurants from Michelin star restaurants (Day and Night and Kapi Sator) When we were checking out we were not able to have too long a late check out but the transit lounge was very comfortable with shower facilities and a collection of novels.
