Lake District National Park Romantic Holidays

Staff were amazing, hotel was very old though. Just the 1 small lift. Gutters were overflowing when it rained. But location is class. Car parking is a massive issue however that’s not really the hotel fault but Just one to be aware of, although the hotels answer to the parking issue is to charge you £25 to use their car park but even that gets full by 1100. So plan ahead for parking. Breakfast is nice. Overall a good stay with amazing staff but just a very aging hotel with signs money has dried up.

A wonderful stay yet again at the salutation hotel. The location of the hotel makes it an ideal stay to visit Ambleside. Perfect to park the car when you arrive and no need to use it again for your stay. Having a spa within the hotel is a bonus and the standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel is exceptional. We stayed in a room at the front of the hotel , which yes there is a little street noise , but nothing you wouldn’t expect staying in a town centre , and certainly didn’t keep you awake at night - in fact it was probably one of the highlights of our room - people watching below and the beautiful fells in the distance. Breakfast is a real treat , excellent selection of hot and cold food and drinks , there is everything you could possibly want for breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - everyone greats you with a smile and are most helpful. Having visited the Lake District from childhood staying at campsites, lodges, cottages and b&b’s , I can honestly say this is my favourite place to stay. Thank you to the team at The Salutation Hotel , hopefully we will return soon.
