Hontoon Island State Park Mountain Holidays

The whole stay was amazing. The amenities were nice. The associates were extra helpful. I Definitely will be going back.

We stayed in one of the cottages and it was just perfect. The fully equipped kitchen downstairs with a master suite was perfect for my parents. I appreciated having the laundry upstairs with the other bedrooms. The staff at the main building were so helpful with our packages and printing documents for us. Unfortunately we had a very busy week and could not enjoy the wonderful amenities of the resort. Overall, a great selection and would start again!

Upon arrival to our room the 1st night, a lady walked up to the fire extinguisher box close to our room, opened it, and pulled something out, and quickly walked away. I thought that was strange. A few nights into our 7 day stay, there was a huge cockroach crawling down the kitchen wall. My husband smashed it with his shoe, and we immediately packed up all of our things and went to talk to the front desk. The man did not seem surprised at all and moved us to a room on the floor below. While we were packing up, I noticed blood splatter on the curtains that had been there for some time. We continued on to the new room and when we walked in, it looked like they dropped us into 1970 with a complete downgrade of the room we were in. The appliances were old & falling apart, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the jacuzzi in the room did not work as it just vibrated when we turned it on. At that point, we were afraid if we asked for another room, it would not make a difference and would get something worse the 3rd time around. The outdoor hot tubs were always full of little kids, so we only were able to use it 2 times. On our last day, when we were leaving, a lady was in the elevator with us w/all of her belongings, told us she was made to move to a different bldg from the bldg she currently lived in. I was shocked that people were living there at a resort, but that explains a lot of the issues we had. We will not stay here again.
