(136 reviews) What an absolute gem of a riad. Down a little cul de sac lane, where you rarely see, hear or smell noisy bikes and scooters, behind a big door, you'll find Said, Hamza and the rest of the team with welcoming smiles and helpful advice. Honestly, we couldn't have felt more at home and it was hard to leave. We were celebrating a special occasion and stayed in the biggest suite, Dar Sultan which which is very spacious, bright and even has a balcony with a sofa overlooking the pool. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was very peaceful, with lots of different lights to create a warm atmosphere. The bathroom was big and shower was hot. The roof gardens are really well laid out with loads of seating undercover or under the sky, and there's an upper area that has 360 degree views to the mountains and the city, perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset. There's a lovely young lady who keeps the whole area looking spotless with a smile, and in the morning, the two ladies making breakfast are always happy and laughing. You get a real feeling that the whole team are happy, which certainly made us happy too! We would highly recommend staying at Fleur d'Orient and on your way into the medina, Simple Speciality coffee on Dar el Bacha do a fantastic coffee, with oatly oat milk! And Xmas Eve dinner at the buffet was amazingly insane. So much good food and merriment. Note that the spa is not great at communicating changes if delays or staff absences that may affect scheduled service. Also the spa pool is indoor which is super but costs extra ($10 USD per adult, kids free which was very nice). Shuttle to town fills up fast and must be booked in advance (at least 24 hours if not more). We will come back!
