(164 reviews) The room was excellent, bed was so comfortable that we slept in on our 1st night, leaving only 1 and a half hours to get ready for a wedding we were going to. The bathroom was lovely, a large shower with rainfall head. Very deep bath that we used on 2nd day. A great menu and restaurants to choose from. The bar was so welcoming with a great whiskey selection for myself and cocktail selection my partner loved. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our stay Matfen Hall was excellent and I highly recommend. We didn’t use the spa facilities this time but definitely will on our return. (1,020 reviews) When we arrived I was informed it was an upgraded room when it clearly was not, then on entering the room the toilet was disgusting and the room smelled so I was moved to the room next door . The next day I left the sign out to refresh the room and was out of the room from 10am to after 5pm and came back to the room not cleaned when I rang reception I was told that housekeeping had finished for the day, the duty manager was nice providing us with toilet rolls and clean towels and I was informed I would get a call the next day. As expected no call so I will not be staying in the Maldron again. A very disappointing experience great location but that’s it.
