Low Wood Bay Resort is a fantastic hotel in an absolutely beautiful location, surrounded with great activity options and great options of its own. The hotel is very nicely finished with a historic Inn at its core surrounded by more expansive modern facilities. It houses 3 restaurant options from pub thru own restaurant to premium dining, with breakfast offered in the lovely W restaurant every day and dining options at the W pub (also with outside patio), and the premium Blue Smoke restaurant, opening with a great Afternoon Tea offering at 11.45 and finishing with great 'al a carte' up to closing time. Service at all was warm and friendly, if not always prompt or top-drawer. It has a spa, which is set up primarily for couples, adults with only the morning session open to families with kids under 16, which was a bit disappointing. The gem was the associated Low Wood Bay Watersports Centre and Marina directly across the road, with everything from stand-up paddle to yacht charters and including kayak, dingy and keelboat hire, all at reasonable prices. We highly recommend Low Wood Bay, and will stay there again ourselves for sure!

Very dissapointing stay. Rooms were tired, food was below par with us not enjoying our meal at all. As a resident we struggled to find anywhere to sit in the bar as the bar/lounge was full of people visiting to eat food. Kept up all night by dogs barking so didn't sleep well. Had to wait for 20 minutes one morning at breakfast before we were given a menu or asked if we wanted a tea or coffee and only provided after we prompted the staff. Only plus was that generally the staff were nice and attentive on other occasions. Hotel in need of a full refurbishment

Nice hotel with ample parking and fair sized rooms. I've stayed in many hotels in the area and this is the first time where B&B does not include an English breakfast. Apparently this has to be ordered the day before and payed as a surcharge??? Very disappointing. Why not just include it in the price?

Staying at Cedar Manor was a dream. The room was clean, cozy with enough space for our needs. Coffee & tea corner with mini refrigerator too. The most comfortable beds of any other hotel! Breakfast was excellent and even customized for my pescatarian son. The grounds are impeccably and beautifully kept. Can’t wait to go back next year.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views overlooking Lake Windermere. The staff are lovely, efficient, and professional- we were even allowed to check in early and received a wonderful room upgrade on arrival! A few small improvements would make the experience even better: Cleanliness- There were a few spiderwebs on our ceiling that were missed during room prep. Amenities- For a 4-star hotel, we missed having a mini-fridge in the room. Complimentary bottled water in the room (rather than having to request it at reception) would also be a great touch. Toiletries- We were only provided one set of shampoo, shower gel, and soap, with no conditioner. For two guests, two full sets including conditioner should be standard. Aside from these minor points, it’s a lovely hotel and a great choice if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic getaway with your partner!

The worst hotel & spa I have ever been to, would not even call this place a spa - my gym has better facilities. Spa in a pub (ridiculous as it sounds). People drinking alcohol in the spa (including in the steam room). Pitch black in the spa - accident waiting to happen. Rude staff. Too busy for the size of the hotel. Had a massage but couldn't relax because it was so loud & lairy in the spa. Room was tiny, narrow and twisted staircase which was a nightmare taking luggage up. Bathroom not cleaned (apartment, but this was not explained upon check-in). Honestly not worth the money, was not relaxing, and would not recommend to anyone.
