We had to sit at the bar while they figured out something about the keys. The mattress and pillows were hard. The staff did their job, but they were not overly friendly and many items listed on the menu were not available. We were given a list of things that we could not order every morning. Everything exceeded our expectations: the people, the service, the food, the cocktails, and of course, the views. We stayed in Room N, which was on the smaller side but absolutely perfect for us — intimate, peaceful, and exactly what we wanted for our honeymoon. We dined at Dasheene every single night and still couldn’t get enough. We’ll be dreaming about the shrimp risotto, blackened tuna, and the post-dinner chocolates for a very long time. The staff are what truly make Ladera unforgettable. A few people deserve special recognition: Stephanie, who handled our turndown service with such care Abigail at the front desk, who was always warm and welcoming Janelle at Dasheene, who went out of her way every night to say hello and make us feel remembered And our absolute favorite — the gentleman at the Hideaway Rum Bar, who was unbelievably kind and even shared the recipe for our favorite nightly cocktails I was emotional when we arrived, and just as emotional when it was time to leave. Ladera is not just a resort — it’s an experience, and one we will cherish forever. We cannot wait to return.
