The place was great! Bed was SO comfortable. Only thing - water didn't drain out of the tub very well. Otherwise, very good !!

Passable. Take your own towels. Bad coffee.
Black Gold is the nicest place to stay in Yoakum. The staff is very friendly. However, I’ve stayed here 2 times in last 7 months and both times the floors were dirty. Visible shoe tracks everywhere, so don’t walk around barefoot. Bring your own towels because theirs are thin and old. Also, the coffee in the lobby comes out of a machine and once you see it, you will not drink it.

Friendly staff very helpful and courteous. The only thing was the potholes at the highway entrance.

Normally I do not stay in Motels… BUT this was a nice little motel with friendly check-in and service! Our event was in Shiner, TX…just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again…

The prorerty was great for the area i was in compared to the other locatuons availbke. The only downer was the pool was closed but it was obviis there was a issue and that happens so no big deal. Ebmverythung else was amazing. Will stay again if im ever in the area.

The overall place was ok at best. Kinda run down. Toilet was disgusting, roaches on the ceiling, shower was dirty. Ended up leaving. Would not recommend.

Property decor was great, lobby and dining as well, breakfast was skimpy which is understandable with the days light attendance, fresh fruit would have been a plus, even if its just bananas, mattress was worn out but all else was clean and adequate for our stay.

Needs improvement
The hotel staff on both days were very friendly. We have stayed her many times over the years, but was disappointed this trip. The towels are old, thin, and small. I wanted to get a quick workout done in the hotel the first evening. Luckily, I had a mat to exercise on. There were shoeprints on the floor that did not match any of our shoes. The floor was very dirty. There was some trash on the bathroom floor as well. The beds were comfortable and the "kitchen area" was appreciated though.

What a nice surprise! An older hotel in a small town? Not the highest expectations....however this was a VERY nice hotel with great beds, an actual closet, and overall just a clean comfortable experience. Good job!!

Not great, but not bad. I received it.
For not being a chain motel, and being in a very small town I found it to be nice and accomodating. Rooms were big and looked to be freshly renovated with up to date furnishings and comfortable bedding on a nice comfy bed. The only negative is we couldn't get the tv to work in the room (which was not a great big deal for us) as we were in & out, and the after hours noise outside. Our neighbor next to us decided to drink outside by his truck through out the night which lead to loud laughing and roudiness. Also, even if the breakfast was not good at all, we would stay here again if ever in the area. (There's a good Donut shop right down the road that sells yummy, big jalapeno & cheese kolaches.

We stayed here 2 years ago and had an amazing experience. So we decided to stay here again. The manager was rude. We never received house keeping. When I asked for towels I was told we don’t have any. I came to get towels again around 4:30 pm and was told it would be another 4 hours before I could get towels. We had to stay an extra night. Was told it would be $74.99 then I was charged $101.69. I called and ask why I was charged that amount and all they could tell me is I don’t know what to tell you. Rooms are decent for the price. Lights out. Clogged bath tubs. This place has gone down hill the past 2 years. Would not recommend staying here until management is corrected.

Front desk staff were very nice and friendly.zero complaints there. However, the room was dirty. I spent 20 minutes cleaning it myself before I allowed my family in. AC smelled like mildew and Walls were very thin and could hear people arguing the whole time. Again,gentleman at the front was great. But the actual room was pretty bad. Wouldn’t stay again.

The room was nice and very clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Honestly the only issue was the lack of options for their continental breakfast and that is a minor issue at best. The best hotel I've stayed at all year and I am very likely to go back next year when I head down that way this time next year
