We had a brilliant stay at the Hand and Spear. The decor was really quirky but fun and we loved it. Room was well equipped and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and efficient - and the Sunday roast was probably the best I've ever had !!

Clean modern and comfortable room. Cleaning staff presented high level of maintence insuring neatness and cleaness. Loved the selection of teas and even biscuits great to have after a long journey. Great facility's, Spa relaxation area lovely staff.The Resturant has a fantastic menu food was delicious. Waiter's were very plesent and new the menu and were able describe dishes very well. Although I have stayed at 5 star hotels on several occasions, I was amazed by the standard of service of this hotel. All the hotel staff were extremely polite and gave the true meaning to the word "valued" customer. From the first time I entered the hotel it was a different experience all together. This hotel is superb , the staff were excellent form arrival to departure and there was nothing they wouldn’t do.

Valet and doorman greeted us with a smile and remembered our name each time we left and returned! Wait staff in the dining rooms were so friendly and very attentive. Beautifully decorated for Christmas!

Great service and super clean

Can't get a better location, near to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Sq, Buckingham Palace...the hotel itself is immaculate, the double room was of a reasonable size, the bed so comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Shower was excellent, complimentary drinks on arrival and cookies and cranberry juice / water in the room. Downsides..not many, view was terrible and there was a slightly unusual smell in the room which you only really noticed first entering.

First impression of the hotel was not great as the lobby and lift are very small. However I am happy with the room and found the staff extremely helpful generally. It’s great to hear the staff telling American tourists about the history of royalty :)

From our arrival at the property we felt very welcome and comfortable. From Marks initial greeting on reception to all orher aspects of our stay we were extremely happy. This business , 52.years in the making with Marks father and uncle is a very slick family run outfit. All staff we encountered including chambermaids were exceptional. They could all not be more helpful and gave valuable information where needed about things like where to get the Uber boat from rather than walking to the City...
