The house was very interesting with a lot of history behind it. Stephanie was full of information about the house and the area! Breakfast was delicious!

First time bed and breakfast
This was our first bed and breakfast stay and we really enjoyed it. We were there for one night and it was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was fantastic.

A Comfortable Hidden Treasure.
I grew up in Waterloo and returned after many years for a family member's funeral. I found the Gridly to be welcoming and very comfortable. Steph and Madison were fantastic hosts, and the breakfasts were incredible. Where I will stay when I go back and I highly recommend to others traveling in the Finger Lakes region.

The property was absolutely beautiful. The owners were so welcoming and hospitable. It was much more like a beautiful room staying with friends than a hotel stay. I would absolutely recommend if you would like a small town feel get away.

Cozy with history
The room was cozy and homey. Because of my bad knee it was a challenge climbing the stairs. Especially with luggage. Thankfully the hostess helped me with it. Must add that the inn was delightfully decorated. One drawback was there wasn’t a tv in the room. I should have asked why, but didn’t think of it when leaving. I loved that the inn was conveniently located near Main Street. Could walk to restaurants. Breakfast food was delicious. Would have been great if there was coffee available when first coming down. Any person that enjoys that first cup in the morning knows how important this beverage is. Also it was stated to me that food wasn’t allowed in the room. First time staying at a getaway that was a requirement. 🤔 Ok so all that being said, I would give my stay 4 stars.

Kathleen, thank you for staying with us.We do have a chair lift available for you to use if your knee was that bad. You could even load luggage onto it.We have a TV in our common area. Many B&B's do not have TV's in the guest rooms.Coffee is available via a Kuerig located in the downstairs hallway. Once we have freshed brewed coffee available, a sign is placed on the Kuerig that states fresh brewed coffee is available to see Steph. Yes, we do not allow any food or drink other than water on the second floor as past guests have dictated this policy. We have ample common areas on our first floor for food and drink.We do appreciate that you had a good experience and the 4 star rating.

We liked everything about this property-from the clean and lovely site to Stephanie and Madison, our hosts. One recommendation: Your in-room guidebook has very little information other than the inn's history and lots of area menus. You should add: time the yummy breakfast is served, wifi-whether you have it and the password, how to adjust the room temperature, and the fact that there's no host contact after 6:00 pm. A page of relevant facts like this will be helpful to your guests.

We're glad that you had a wonderful experience.Each guest receives upon check in a slip of paper with the Wi-Fi password, the time breakfast is served (you're also told this at check in), there are hand held controls for the air conditioning in the room. Yes, you can reach us as we live on premise, and Maddy sits by our front desk when she is home. Sorry about any confusion.

We had a wonderful time at the inn. Spent time walking in Waterloo and Seneca Falls. Found really nice lunch and supper places. Went to the farmers market. Also, had a great breakfast and conversation at the inn. We are hoping to come again in the near future. Thank you.

We appreciated the air condition after a very hot and muggy day. Parking on the street is the only option due to slight construction work being done by the owner. Roz was kind and gracious to us when we arrived.

Relaxing Home
After a day's sight-seeing, we appreciated the home-like atmosphere of The Gridley. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. Madison's breakfast quiche and sweet cake were delicious! The conversations between guests and hosts were engaging, and made the visit complete. We will definitely return!

Great 1860’s house the is in great condition and very interesting. Owners were great and the food excellent. Good location and owners gave a lot of history of the place and area.

Wonderful house aligned with great personal service. Rooms are excellent and well furnished. Day rooms are well appointed. Complimentary sodas, not drinks and water. Breakfast is outstanding. Recommended. Will stay again if passing.

This is a very nice B & B with friendly hosts. Quiet sleeping, plenty of sitting areas, clean and just a unique, restored B&B with an interesting history. The breakfasts are Awesome!!

Our stay was OK. The B&B was clean & our stay was quiet. We were greeted by Roz who was friendly & knowledgeable about the Inn. Unfortunately, there was a distinct manure/barn smell throughout the town that made it difficult to truly enjoy enjoy our stay. Though the breakfast was good, the owner has very clear political views that she openly shared at breakfast which also made it difficult to quietly enjoy the start to our day. We chose not to engage & quietly ate our breakfast and left. The Mexican restaurant served spoiled guacamole & a margarita that we were unable to drink due to its awful taste. All in all we would not return.

Sarah, I'm sorry that you did not have a good experience during your stay.I'm not sure how the air quality could affect our rating. Over the past few days, we had warm temperatures and the earth was coming back to life after its long winter slumber. I'm not sure how your experience at the local Mexican restaurant could affect our rating. I will be speaking with the owner and show them your comments. The only issue on your comment concerning political views was a quip to your friend from Florida that they are now allowed to say "gay" here in NY. Prior to and during breakfast, you and your friend appeared to have engaged in your own private conversation. One of our guests was the mayor of a local community. We did discuss a number of issues facing small town communities as they deal with aging population, crumbling infrastructure, rising costs, the image and identity of each town, etc. If there were any other issues that was discussed that you felt uncomfortable, all you needed to do was say something at that time. We urge our guests to be outgoing in our intimate dining room setting.We do ask that you give Waterloo and The Gridley Inn another opportunity to put our best foot forward.

Pleasant Stay
Madison and Roz were very friendly at check in and asked about any dietary restrictions for breakfast. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable with high-thread count sheets. Breakfast was delicious and the dietary accommodation was greatly appreciated. Enjoyed our stay, the use of the pool table, and the breakfast chat with Steph. Great spot- close to downtown and casino.
