Check in was smooth and fast, and we received a comfortable apartment with separate bedroom as booked. It had a small kitchenette, so we also could prepare some or our own meals. Cleaning is only once during your stay, but you can book extra cleaning for a fee. The attached restaurant served a good breakfast and we also had a nice dinner there. As the oldest hotel in Zakopane, its history is reflected in beautiful architectural details—carved woodwork, grand staircases, and classic finishes that give the building timeless character. Photos truly do not do this hotel justice. While a few cosmetic elements show their age, the important details—comfort and atmosphere—are outstanding. The beds are exceptionally comfortable with plush down pillows, high-quality down comforters, and crisp cotton bedding. Bathrooms are spacious and modern with excellent amenities. My room even had a lovely terrace overlooking the street, and despite being close to everything in town, nights were remarkably quiet. The breakfast buffet was the best I experienced during my two weeks in Poland—abundant, fresh, and beautifully presented. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was equally impressive; the duck was superb, the fish perfectly prepared, and the service excellent. The staff were gracious and accommodating throughout our stay, from adding a late-arriving companion to our reservation to holding our luggage after checkout. One thing to note is that the spa and facilities close at 12 each day, which we weren’t aware of in advance, and they also fully close by 9pm in the evening. Additionally, as there were quite a few families with children staying, areas like the gym and spa/swimming facilities could feel a bit busier at times.
