Selection of room furnishing

Posted 24-Apr-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Please dump the ugly, ugly furniture where it belongs. Why have a tv if you cannot position the chairs to watch it?
Location: We stay in Victoria at least four times a year. I shop for books at Munroes. My wife shops for antiques on Fort Street.
Three main things wrong. 1 I have a bad back and must spend at least 3 hours in a chair, not in bed. These were the most uncomfortable chairs ever. 2 All the furniture was designed badly, not thought out, just dumped there. Hideous looking as well. 3 I tried to get a drink in the bar and was told it was closed for a private function. Surely the bar is for staying guests.

Great location

Posted 20-Apr-2016
Pros: The location was the greatest it was next door to the Parliament Building and a block away from the Museum.
The only problem with our stay was the pier construction across the street from the Hotel. We paid extra for a water view suite. When we arrived at our room on the fourth floor the noise was terrible. The great folks at the front when notified moved us to the seventh floor and this solved the problem. Otherwise this was a great Hotel and we look forward to our next stay.

Posted 17-Apr-2016
Pros: Clean, quiet, staff were helpful
Location: Hotel is close to nearby shops, water taxis which we took and it was fun. Museum was excellent along with Parliament buildings. Lots of restaurants.
Used spa very nice people and peaceful surroundings. Food was excellent in their restaurant and room service was great. Staff were polite and very helpful always with a great welcome and smile. Stayed for four nights and enjoyed it immensely.

Cheaper option than the Empress

Posted 14-Apr-2016
Pros: This was a cheaper option than the Empress and very comparable. It was very clean & somewhat fancy. Good location for walking to attractions.
Cons: Give cheapie stuff out as complimentary - bottle water, warm blankets, etc.
Location: EVERYTHING is nearby - ferry dock, great food & attractions.
This was a cheaper option than the Empress and very comparable. It was very clean & somewhat fancy. My furniture in my room was a little beat up however which didn't look nice walking in. It was extremely clean. The blankets on the bed were pretty thin - I was freezing and would have preferred a comfier bed. Room had it's own heating/air conditioning. But for the price - I had the smallest coffee maker and barely any complimentary coffee to put into it. Even smaller hotel chains have nicer coffee makers or Keurigs. And smaller/cheaper hotels give you complimentary bottled water (at least 2 bottles for your first night's stay). So basically you get a great location here, and fancier settings than the Best Western or Days Inn which share the same parking lots. But no complimentary breakfast, bottled waters, warm blankets, or a decent amount of coffee to brew in the morning. Just a very clean semi-fancy hotel. The staff was all very nice. Parking was $18 per day. Free wifi.

Great location, friendly staff, beautiful Lobby!

Posted 13-Apr-2016
Pros: The location, and super friendly staff were some of the best qualities at this hotel!
Cons: The bed was way to firm for my taste!
Location: BC Museum, Parliment building, Inner Harbour, Whale watching tour, shops, restaurants, coffee and tea houses, and lots of beautiful gardens and trees
We loved the location of this hotel, it gave us the opportunity to walk everywhere with ease, and the area was beautiful with horse drawn carriages, gardens and the lovely blossom trees everywhere! We loved our room with a balcony, and the staff was prompt and eager to correct anything not pleasing to us! The hotel bed was very firm, not good for everyone, but the room was laid out nicely. We enjoyed the pool!Umbrellas were available to guests at the entrance, which was a nice touch, even though we did not need them! Great stay, would return for another holiday!

A Great Location

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Pros: its location and service
A very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant food was delicious and I felt very comfortable bringing my friends here for dinner. Room service was prompt and efficient. I did not have time to use the swimming pool but I will try it next time. I will certainly use and recommend this hotel to my friends.in the future.

Nice hotel - restaurant could have more variety

Posted 11-Apr-2016
Quite lovely amenities but hardly a soul in restaurant? Menu needs more variety - otherwise perfect!

Great location!

Posted 07-Apr-2016
Pros: Swimming pool and fitness center
Cons: complimentary parking fees.
Location: Fantastic location! Beacon Hill Park, Victoria Bug Zoo, and British Columbia Legislature Building were my favorite activities.
Hotel's location couldn't be better! It is just perfectly located next door to the Parliament/Legislature building. From the Hotel all the good stuff can be done walking. If you have kids, I stronly recommend Beacon Hill Park (walking distance from the Hotel) rather than Butchart Gardens.

Great location in the Inner Harbour

Posted 31-Mar-2016
Pros: Lovely location; lights on trees at night when you enter the hotel driveway; and lots of lobby area.
Cons: Will be happy to seeing the tarps come down that cover half of the hotel. Currently they are renovating and look forward to seeing the results.
Location: Convenient location on the inner harbor and close to shops, museum, walking, restaurants, etc.
Knew when we booked that the pool and hot tub area was under renovations and may be ready by the time we arrived. The hotel kept us informed by e-mail when the opening date was delayed and we were delighted that it opened while we were still there to enjoy both. Beautiful hotel, great rooms with view of the City and very convenient to the downtown shopping and walking areas.

Great Vacation

Posted 30-Mar-2016
Pros: So comfortable, close to the water and downtown.
Location: Fisherman's wharf is nearby, great walking trails, many places to eat nearby. Close to Legislature. Ferry right there. So much to do
We had the best time. The hotel was beautiful, the area was perfect, weather was great, staff was awesome! Will definitely be going back.
