"Casa Almina" is a self-contained apartment in a small apartment building located 2 km from the beaches of Torre del Lago. It features a kitchen-living room that opens onto a private garden, a double bedroom, a small bedroom with two bunk beds, and a bathroom with a shower and bidet.
The house has a garden where you can relax, complete with two beach chairs, a table, chairs, and a barbecue for cooking and dining outdoors. Free bicycles are available for guests. Free parking is available on the street.
The apartment is located in a very quiet area on a cul-de-sac that ends at the San Rossore Natural Park. If you wish, you can reach the beautiful public beaches of the Natural Park by taking the bike paths within the park itself.
Within a 500-meter radius, you’ll find a supermarket, bars, pastry shops, fruit and vegetable stands, pizzerias, restaurants, bakeries, and more.
Viareggio is 5 km away, with its splendid promenade lined with shops and bars. Continuing northward for just a few kilometres, you’ll pass other famous towns in Versilia, eventually reaching Forte dei Marmi (20 km)—an elegant and exclusive resort with a world-famous market (Wednesdays and Sunday mornings) featuring designer clothing at incredibly affordable prices. Inland, you’ll find the charming town of Pietrasanta (20 km), a destination for sculptors and artists from all over the world: in the summer, it hosts major art exhibitions and concerts, and the evenings are very lively thanks to its many excellent restaurants, wine shops, and wine bars. Behind it lie the Apuan Alps with the quarries of white marble beloved by Michelangelo, offering the opportunity for hikes up to 2,000 metres. Furthermore, from “Casa Almina” you can quickly reach Lucca (28 km), Pisa (18 km), and Florence (100 km) for wonderful art tours.
In the summer, there are many musical events. Particularly well-known are the Puccini Festival in July and August in Torre del Lago, held in the large open-air theatre located right across from the maestro’s villa; the Summer Festival in Lucca in July; and the Versiliana Festival in Marina di Pietrasanta. But throughout the summer, there are many classical, jazz, and pop concerts in medieval squares and villas featuring internationally renowned artists. In February, the Viareggio Carnival takes place, featuring five masked parades in which large papier-mâché floats parade along the seaside avenues. In November, Lucca Comix, Europe’s largest comic book and cosplay event.
