"My Husband I stayed at the Mercure Hotel for one night to go to a concert at the Utilita Stadium. the hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. It was warm and room facilities were good. There was a kettle, tea bags (no biscuits) coffee, iron and board, hairdryer, shampoo and gel. It was quiet despite being at the back near some storage containers but no traffic or loading is mentioned in one other review. The outlook is onto a grass banking and trees so you don't notice the containers too much. The restaurant was lovely, we had a meal in the evening and our waiter was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style down to hot water and coffee from a machine and you toast your own bread. There was plenty food available, and I was given non dairy milk when I asked. Reception were very helpful regarding getting cabs to and from Utilita.The journey is only about 10 minutes at most from the Hotel. We enjoyed our stay and found the rooms comfortable and very quiet and clean."

"The staff have been amazing everytime we have been visiting for the last ten months more on a weekly basis however recently have not felt that welcomed by a certain member of staff who shows no customer service care at all and come across very rude and abrupt. We have always enjoyed being here as the staff have always been friendly but recently we do not feel that is the case with one of the receptionist called Adeola. It would be appreciated if this individual respects customers and approaches them in a positive manner. Recommendations would be to improve her customer service skills on how to approach and acknowledge a paying guest! Maybe select her to individual 1-2-1 training on customer care. As a paying guest - first approach by any member of staff is crucial to the first impressions of the location and the experience. "

"Conveniently situated in city centre walkable to shops & many restaurant choices nearby. Decent bar area. Helpful staff. Nice spa & pool. Car park nearby v short walk. "

"We came to an event at the hotel: arrived early to get ready in our room, stayed overnight and enjoyed the buffet breakfast before heading home. Staff on reception were so lovely; always attentive and ready to help. The room was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. During the event we attended, the food was delicious and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was good - pretty standard buffet breakfast - but the area didn’t seem to be very well stocked with cups/plates/cutlery etc. (drinks were being served in take-away cups) which, considering it was a Sunday morning following a large event, could probably have been better prepared for. Other than that, it was the perfect stay! "
