This hotel was clean, comfortable, spacious, and had all the amenities to make you feel like you never left home. The staff was extra courteous and ready to help at any point. The neighborhood is perfect - Shadyside was a walkable two blocks away. Loved that you could park your own car, the apartment feel of each suite (which was so cutely decorated), and the coffee/tea/computer bar a few floors away was perfect so we didnt have to face the cold super early in the morning. I think I found my favorite hotel in Pittsburgh. Thanks Shadyside inn!

This hotel was very warm and cozy like a b and b. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly but unconcerned when i noted I had to park in the dark, unlit, unpaved and muddy area behind the hotel after paying $11 for parking. Also toiletries were sparce... Shampoo and conditioner only... No hand or body soap and only one wash cloth provided for two adults. Breakfast prices were very high $12 for oatmeal??? Really?
The hotel was simply "OK". The room wasn't dirty (other than the mirror in the bathroom) but it wasn't anything to "write home to mom" about either. The staff was ok. They were overly friendly but they weren't rude. On Saturday my daughter and I came back to our room to relax at 3pm to find that it was not made yet. We saw the housekeeper in the hall who said she would get to it soon so we waited in the lobby for an hour before going back. When we got back it was done and she was long gone. However, the coffee for the coffee maker was not re-stocked and other than clean tours and the bed being made, other things were not put back in place. The room we stayed in was right near the elevator and you could hear everyone and everything until the early morning hours. Simply put...the experience was OK, not good, not great, but OK!
My daughter and I drove from Va to Pittsburgh for a weekend stay to see the sights and see the Steelers/Broncos game on Sunday. We arrived really early on Saturday around 11am (check-in time at 3pm). The staff was fabulous, they found a room that we could check-in early and unpack the car. Later in the day the front desk provided us some great suggestions for unique restaurants to checkout near to us. The room was clean, very comfy and spacious. The free continental breakfast was a welcome treat! Their staff keep everything out till 10am and fully stocked for all of their guest to enjoy!!
Thanks for helping us enjoy our first stay in Pittsburgh, great time!!!
My friends and I recently needed a hotel for a night out on the town in Pittsburgh for NYE. This was a great find for us, as it was decently priced for a Hilton, was in a central location to most of the areas in Pittsburgh, and had all the accommodations we needed for a great evening. They had a shuttle service to the major bar areas of the city, but these were pretty crowded because of the holiday, so we took an Uber which arrived in minutes. Additionally, we ordered pizza to our room that the hotel desk had recommended and it was fantastic.
We very much enjoyed our stay and fully plan to book this hotel for future trips to Pittsburgh.
P.S. Parking is not included in your room price, so just be aware of that if that is an issue with your booking! It is valet only.
This hotel is currently under renovations - this is not a big deal, but just a little inconvenient. It is more than made up by the friendliness of the staff at the front desk as well as the shuttle drivers. We took advantage of the shuttles a few times and it was such a great feature of this hotel. They were able to take us to the Peterson Event Center as well as down into the Theatre district. Definitely a bonus for staying here. I would definitely stay again and looking forward to seeing the hotel after the renovations are complete.
Chock-full of universities, museums, and eclectic boutiques, Oakland abounds with cultural activities. Its Beaux-Arts complex, a 10-acre legacy of steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie, houses the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History. Visitors also find his “golden touch” at the famed Carnegie Mellon University. For delightful flora, pay a visit to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
