"Ocean was visible from room but through some palm trees...we were not exactly "ocean front". The housekeeping staff came daily which we did not initially realize - were very attentive once we tipped daily. The restaurant and bar staff were generally unfriendly and not very efficient, with the exception of Lydia, the pool waitperson...on her days off, no one served that area. The breakfast buffet is very expensive and food was just OK. There is only 1 restaurant and 1 bar - you need reservations at restaurant or they mostly will not seat you. If you don't have a car, you will need to take taxis to other restaurants as there is nothing within walking distance. And if you do rent a car, the roads are not in good shape and driving is on the left which is confusing for some Americans. There are a very limited number of chairs and umbrellas at the pool and on the beach with "first come, first serve". The rooms and entire facility desperately need renovating; two taxi drivers told us the entire resort is scheduled for tear down and rebuilding but other sources say only renovation is planned. We would not recommend visiting until after the renovations."
