"Comfortable room, friendly staff. Had pleasant meal one night, and enjoyed cooked breakfast. Spent few hours in pub lounge, great atmosphere. Small point, we were in room 9 which was noisy at night due to extractor fan out
side. Other than that we enjoyed our stay."

Staff were extremely friendly, and my dinner the evening I arrived was delicious. I don't eat breakfast but the coffee was good. The setting of this place is just beautiful, I was sad to only be staying the one night.

This is the quintessential English vicarage and the perfect B&B. If you want to stay in a warm, welcoming and beautiful location, then look no further. The room was immaculate and breakfast perfect. Tricia and Andrew are excellent hosts and we could have happily spent hours chatting. They offered good advice on where to eat and where to go. If we return to the Peak District we won’t give a second thought to booking again.

Lovely room, perfect for relaxing after a day out walking. Chosen because it was dog friendly and it did not disappoint - good for walking into town and loved that there was a map showing us how to get there by avoiding the main road. Breakfasts were delicious! Thank you for our stay.

We stayed here for two nights to visit family in the area. We happened to arrive on the day that the bar reopened so it was really busy. The staff were fantastic - they saved a parking space right outside for us and very helpfully let us have breakfast at odd times. Great service, even though they were just getting used to coping with the new covid/distancing requirements.
I was also very impressed that they closed the bar for a few hours in the evening as they felt it was getting too busy and...

We wanted to visit the local National Trust properties, which were all very worth visiting. The scenery was lovely (Peak District), and the pub we ate at was also very good - a recommendation of the hotel staff. We only stayed for three nights this time, but will be coming back for another visit sooner rather than later, and would hope to stay again at Newton House. The bar and lounges were nicely furnished and decorated, and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

When is the best time to book a Bed & Breakfast in Totley?
The best time to book a B&B in Totley is during the vibrant late summer months of July to September. This is when the area comes alive with outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, drawn to the picturesque Peak District. The pleasant weather, with temperatures often reaching the low 20s Celsius, makes it ideal for hiking and cycling along the stunning trails that weave through the rolling hills and charming villages.
July, in particular, is a popular month for visitors, as the longer days provide ample time to explore the local attractions and partake in outdoor activities. The lush greenery and blooming wildflowers create a breathtaking backdrop, great for leisurely walks or picnics in the countryside.
If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider visiting in December. It's cooler, with temperatures dipping into single digits, the festive atmosphere and fewer crowds offer a unique charm. You can enjoy cosy evenings in local pubs, perhaps warming up with a hot drink after a day of exploring the winter landscape.
