"We had a fantastic stay at The Cally Palace Hotel. I visited with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson — the boys enjoyed a round of golf while we girls headed to the Arts and Crafts Festival in Kirkcudbright. The hotel is full of charm, with beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms, and very friendly staff. The food was excellent, and the whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!"
"Rooms were very clean and ensuite we only stayed 1 night as a stop over and would use again, a large communal kitchen and tv room even though there were tvs in the rooms, very quiet and relaxung "
"All the staff were lovely. The food was good and the bar was fun. The room was comfortable and quiet although it’s a bit of a maze to get there. Plenty of hot water. Rather creaky bed but okay."
Large country house with garden, outdoor spa area & games room by Get Better Get
10/10 Excellent
"A perfect week in a peaceful location. The cottage is lovely. Well equipped, clean, good wifi, and lots of communal space for gathering, inside and out (and an amazing DVD collection according to our film buff family member!). Games room and table tennis were great fun in an evening and the large dining table perfect for board games as well as eating. A spacious garden with various seating areas and the icing on the cake-the sauna hot tub. Nothing better than relaxing in the tub with only the sound of the breeze in the trees and the occasional baa! We love DG for its varied, beautiful landscapes and wildlife. So much to do locally and having distilleries and 2nd hand bookshops so close was amazing. "
"Nicole and Malcolm make Craigmount so special. Book themed bedrooms to reflect Wigtown, and a lovely sitting room to read or eatch TV. Our double bedded room with ensuite overlooked the garden. The room was quite compact, and made more so by our largish suitcases. If you have big bags, perhaps book a family room. All the rooms are accessible via stairs. The pre-ordered breakfast was freshly cooked and wonderful. Dinner options in town or nearby were limited, except to drive, especially mid-week. Nicole offers a simple evening meal option of a choice of a few home cooked meals, to eat in the dining room. We had her delicious chicken curry one night. BYO drinks. Both Nicole and Malcolm were great sources of local information, and really helpful. Excellent place to stay."
