It was a good hotel, pretty walk-able to night life and dinning options. If you are someone who loves dive bars, street food and interesting night life then this is the perfect area. If you’re a family and don’t want to explain to your kids why hotels in the area rent hourly, I would look at other hotels or districts.

The hotel is very new and clean. Breakfast is also great. Hotel room is very small but I guess it's common in Tokyo. The hotel is not very suitable for family with young children since it's in the middle of Kabukichō. Otherwise, it's very good.

Loved how close it was to restaurants and shopping. The area is known for its night life and the city glows every night! Hotel Amanek was the perfect home base fo us.

The room is small for two people. There's no place to put your luggage and clothes. The toilet is excellent. Staff are excellent.

Hotel was located inside a small alley in the heart of the male hostess clubs. Wouldn’t have booked this location if our traveling companions booked without letting us know and he cannot get a refund. Their cancellation policy is extremely unfriendly. Hotel and the staff itself is ok. Rooms are small, either side of the bed were walls. Layout of the rooms was not great. Bathroom was surprisingly spacious with a mini bathtub. Breakfast doesn’t look that great for the price so we skipped and dine elsewhere. The best thing for this hotel is probably their staff and customer service. One thing that bothers me is that they only offer room service every third day, and you have to let them know that you need fresh towels on no cleaning days

Location was awesome— a short walk to many kombinis and restaurants and 5-10 minutes from Shinjuku station. We felt very safe here because it was in a quiet back alley of Kabukicho. Overall, room was actually quite spacious compared to other Japanese hotels that we’ve stayed at. My husband got very ill while we were staying at the facility and staff was so nice about helping us figure out which medications to give him. Definitely recommend!

The property was great for the area. Shinjuku could be a bit wild but the area of the property was in a great location being close to shops, many izakayas, and the station was a fine 10-15 minute walk. Overall, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Also, the rooms were very nice and clean, with a good amount of space and well maintained bathrooms.

Hotel itself was nice, staff was very friendly, room was very small but that was expected, getting to the hotel you go through some very busy, dirty areas. Surprisingly there was no noise from the area in the room. Room is a mattress on the floor and a bathroom, so be prepared if you’re used to a proper bed.

This Hotel is in the Bar and club district. It was convenient to the station and lots of restaurants. We never felt unsafe here although there were crowds of young people going to the clubs. We were a couple of blocks from great shopping as well. Breakfast options were limited so you have to be flexible. Stayed 6 nights. Room is small but very efficient with great bathrooms.

Amanek hotel is wonderful. The area is not my favourite but it’s still conveniently close to all tourist attractions and Shinjuku train station.

Profit-minded hotel operations
Whether you stay for only a night or close to 2 weeks like myself, the hotel runs with just profit in mind and do not value your long period of stay. Additional toothbrushes to be charged, bedsheets changed only every 4 days and strictly no extension of check out time. If you are not particular about building a long term relationship with a hotel for your future stays in Tokyo, this is the hotel for you!

The staff were fantastic at the hotel. Always happy to help and went out of their way to make dinner recommendations and bookings for us. The room is very small, unable to leave bags open on the ground, but it was a fantastic location with walkable distance to food and nightlife and a small walk to several train lines.

New and modern hotel
Pretty good new hotel with modern amenities. As with all hotels in Japan the rooms are tiny but the hotel itself is nice with very helpful staff. Location is ok but a good 10 min walk from Shinjuku Rail station and with two large bags it was a struggle. The area around the hotel is lively but we never had an issue with noise.
