"Breakfast Continental. Staff were hardly ever there but polite when found them. Room mouldy/stained in ceiling & wardrobe. Rained so water came through bedroom ceiling all night, as no other room avaliable. Moved us next night. "

"Seems new owners have taken over since we last stayed. Some good changes, some bad. Room we stayed in seemed to have a make over which was good, breakfast disappointed with free toast and cereal but cooked breakfast now charged. The red haired girl that ran the restaurant seems to have gone and she was a real plus at this b and b. But all the best with the venture to the new owners."

"Excellent food and drinks. Staff were all very helpful. Dined in the bar which was a bit busy. Would probably book the restaurant if we stayed again. Bedroom was lovely. A little pricey compared to rooms of a similar standard we've stayed in but that's probably down to the popularity of the hotel."

"Extremely disappointed - spa and pool closed due to building work, not clearly stated on Expedia. Specifically booked for these facilities after a very long drive. Hotel needed updating and didn’t feel immaculately clean. Front desk was a mess. Paid £144 for one night in a room that felt like a Premier Inn room with a fridge added. Stains on carpet, no pictures or nice touches apart from robes and slippers. Sofabed looked tired and old. Cooked breakfast was good but continental had only mandarin segments - no other fruit and no choice of cereals or pasties. Dining room was bland and dark with no atmosphere - we asked to put music on as it was deathly quiet. Best thing was free parking in a lovely historic town and the shoe shop opposite which was a Sketchers outlet selling end of line with at least 50% discount. Thai restaurant a few doors down from hotel was excellent with outstanding food. Wouldn’t stay again. "
