A lovely little cottage with everything you could possibly need for a weekend get away.
A beautiful location set far enough back from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country, but also situated close to Sidmouth, Exeter and more.

Friendly staff couldn’t do enough for you, all areas were clean and pleasant. Breakfast was enjoyable and value for money. Evening meal again fresh and good value but a limited menu. Rooms are tired but beds are comfortable and again clean . Will stay again .

We stayed at the hotel which was very close to the pavilion we were visiting for the evening. We had a twin room overlooking the beachfront, lovely views. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Shower wasn't very powerful and im not use to climbing in the bath to shower. Bar was good priced and good atmosphere. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and very filling. Already booked to go back next month. Other hotels in the area are more expensive. I give this hotel a five star.

Which area of Thorverton is best to stay in for beaches?
Thorverton isn't directly on the coast, so the best areas to stay for beaches would be the nearby coastal towns and villages that offer easy access to the seaside.
For travellers seeking a classic Devon beach experience, the seaside town of Exmouth is an excellent choice. It's about a 30-minute drive from Thorverton and boasts a two-mile-long sandy beach, popular for swimming and watersports. The town centre, located just behind the beach, has a good selection of restaurants and shops, and you can easily walk along the esplanade. Couples looking for a relaxing break by the sea will appreciate the amenities and the straightforward access to the beach.
Alternatively, for a more rugged coastal feel, Budleigh Salterton, roughly 25 minutes from Thorverton, offers a shingle beach backed by cliffs. It's a quieter town with a charming high street and is part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, making it ideal for those who enjoy coastal walks and exploring natural landscapes.

During this time, the days are long, providing ample opportunity for seaside strolls, swimming, or exploring the charming coastal villages nearby. For those seeking a slightly different experience, June presents a wonderful alternative. The weather is still very pleasant, with temperatures often reaching the high teens, which is superb for enjoying the coastline without the peak summer crowds.
