Beautiful Penthouse not ideal bedroom arrangements
First let me say that this penthouse was perfectly equipped t for our stay. My husband and I booked this for ourselves and 3 adult children with their plus ones. The amenities at The Peaks were amazing and the living space including amazing views were perfect. Because it was August and gorgeous weather, it made the penthouse pretty warm even with all windows open and shades that could be drawn closed. The “interior bedroom” on the first floor doesn’t have any windows or ventilation so that even with a fan going needed the door to be open all night. Same was for the bedroom on the 3 floor that had doors opening into the kitchen area (it’s a loft) but also very warm as the range and oven vent vented through the room. The master was spacious and wonderful and the other first floor bedroom was great. We realized their was a pullout bed in the living room so that the person in the room with no windows ended up there. All in all an amazing stay. These problems may not be so pronounced in the winter months if the heat is kept low.
Great condo/location but needs some updating and TLC
Our family of 6 (4 young kids, 2 adults) thoroughly enjoyed this condo with spectacular views, easy access to hot tub and pool with a slide, and being close to the gondolas and restaurants in the village.
The condo itself is decorated with high-end furnishings although a bit outdated and the cups/plates are quite chipped. The place could use a good deep cleaning to get cobwebs on the windows and patio doors and caked-on dust off the floor fans provided. The rugs didn’t seem the cleanest either. So I can’t say it was spotless but we still really enjoyed it. The master mattress wasn’t the most comfortable either. We’d stay here again though in hopes that some improvements were made.

Strange and Below Expectations
The Peaks is a great resort -- the gym/spa and ski valet especially. This condo has great views, however several things were disappointing for us. First of all, there were small pieces of broken glass on the floor that didn't get cleaned and on two occassions was stepped on causing cut feet. The bathrooms all had problems. The upstairs bathroom window would not open without falling off the hinges and potentially being stuck open. The master shower is uncomfortably small and terribly designed. The second downstairs bathroom has no ventilation and is covered in mold. Also, there is nowhere to hang a towel or hand towel, and very little counter space. All around not well thought out or comfortable. Kitchen has dim lighting, insufficient utensils, and one of the burners doesn't work. Sliding doors are sticky and almost impossible to open to get out onto deck and BBQ. In general, the downstairs is very poorly planned. One of the bedrooms has no easy bathroom or shower access (have to go through one of the other bedrooms) and the furniture doesn't fit the space. Also, blinds broken and be creaks so loudly it's impossible to sleep. For the price, we found it very disappointing and remarkably poor design. Would not stay again. We've been doing this trip for 8 years and this was the most expensive and least comfortable place we've rented. Also, your staff was very unconcerned when emailed about the broken glass. In general, felt like a place no one would ever live comfortably. Just the bare minimum that people will tolerate for a few day or week trip. Not the level of quality and care expected.
As I said, the Peaks is great and the condo has a wonderful location, but the layout/design, amenities, and maintenance we well below average.
My sons and their spouses live all over the world...we come together once a year and this year was in Telluride, Colorado. The property was large enough for all 7 of us to have our own space. The views are spectacular. We took advantage of the spa & pool which were amazing. My only issue was that the unit doesn’t have air conditioning which we knew before we booked. To get air in the unit we had to open windows but there were no screens on the windows. This created an issue with flies coming in whenever we were cooking. Other that that one hiccup...we enjoyed the unit, Telluride and made some beautiful memories.
This was a great space for two families of four. The location was conveniently located across from all the Mountain Village amenities. The only down side would be the mandatory Valet Parking that has a daily fee. There is no self park option. We’ll be back for sure.
Great property and great location! This is the perfect condo to rent for friends and family in telluride. It was nice being able to use the peaks hotel amenities - pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, fitness center and golf course. Great location. We’ll be staying here again.
Pros: Huge place with plenty of room for our family of six to spread out. Stunning views. Well-equipped kitchen. Really cool stone throughout. Loved the board games.
Cons: We picked this place over others largely for the pool and hot tub, but they were both closed the whole time we were there due to renovations, which we did not find out about until after we'd arrived. The woman at the front desk was very nice and credited us $50 towards our parking (which, ahem, was $150 for the stay, be warned), but we really just wanted to be able to swim. Also, the unit as a whole has definitely seen better days and is a little run-down (and with a slightly weird layout -- no closet or bathroom for one of the bedrooms, and no windows in two of the bedrooms). Also, there's still no real housekeeping service due to covid (just towel drop/trash pick-up), which seemed a little lame for a six-day stay now that most people are vaccinated. Overall, for about the same price, I'd stay at the Franz Klammer instead, which is where we usually stay (but has kind of a lame pool, which is why we decided to branch out). The Franz Klammer is also a little closer to the gondola, which is better.
The property was great with amazing views. We didn’t end up getting to ski, but the kids loved the pool and game room. The location was perfect to walk to the gondola and I assume the ski valet is great.
