"Basic Hotel, Well-kept and Quiet"
I stayed here for 17 days. Many hotels in this price range are neglected, dirty, or both. Not this hotel!
The parking lot, sidewalks, and exterior were clean. A woman came by with a bucket of bleach water to wipe down the doors to prevent condensation from causing mold; the carpet in the room was clean; the bathroom was clean even in the corner behind the door, which many 4- and 5-star hotels miss.
The desk staff were courteous and helpful at check-in, handling my special needs professionally. The bed was very comfortable. The pool, though small, was well-maintained.
I felt very safe at this hotel. Cameras in all public areas and regular staff walk-arounds helped me to feel that rowdy behavior or shady guests would not be tolerated, and indeed two rooms full of single guys were indoors and quiet by 9:00 pm.
Breakfast area and lobby are clean and comfortable. My only dissatisfactions: I wish there were a microwave in the room and that there were some kind of protein at breakfast; it was cereals, breads and bagels, and donuts.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. I spent 2 nights at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta before coming here, and though the decor, locale, and amenities of the Baymont are of course not comparable, the service, cleanliness, and maintenance were actually BETTER, imho.
