Checking in was difficult due to an incorrect code but we had assistance from other residents which helped enormously. Also there’s no wriggle room with code as we established it would not open even 5 minutes before check in time, despite being ready. "attended a wedding here so decided to stay over,the hotel room was lovely and clean,bed was very uncomfortable,shower was great.the breakfast was great with excellent selection of food. The only fault we had was that the bedroom window wouldn’t close,which didn’t seem a problem when we returned back to our room later in the night,but from 5am all we could hear noise of the traffic,so had about 4hours sleep all night,so if you are booking i recommend asking for a room not facing the road"

"The hotel is ideally located to enjoy the best of Buxton. It is beautifully decorated, with a real sense of luxury. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Staff were helpful and polite. My only disappointment was the breakfast service and in all truth this was completely unacceptable. It was apparent that the kitchen and service was heavily understaffed, which impacted upon the cleanliness, insufficient stocks on the buffet service and delays serving food. Most people had a 45min delay for hot breakfast, and this resulted in us and a number of other guests requesting refunds. The serving staff were very apologetic and just looked worn out and embarrassed."

"I think the value for money was excellent. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The only complaint with the room was the lighting being too dark, albeit a very modern lighting setup. However, I have to state as someone allergic to Gluten, the hotel and restaurant have absolutely ZERO ability to deal with this and therefore neither dinner nor breakfast was an option."

"Great hotel but it clearly needs a refurb now. The rooms are nice but the decor a bit old fashioned and showing signs of a lot of wear and tear. The corridors and panelling are chipped and bashed and the pool area and sauna etc missing tiles. It’s in a great location and the rooms and bathrooms are a great size and the mattress really comfy. Staff are really helpful and the onsite bar and restaurant are really nice. As I say, just needs a refurb to bring it up to speed."

"They take a £60 back up fee on arrival in case you do a bunk at the bar, but soften the hit with a free cookie. Hotel was fine though, gym small but has everything you need for a decent work out. Rooms were clean and very pleasant with fans provided as well as the air con. Easy location, especially if your watching a match/event at Bramall lane FC"
