The owner asked me by text when we would arrive. He gave instructions on a self check-in. There was no soap in the room and only one tube of shampoo/conditioner. He said his wife would drop the soap in the morning. To his credit, I did find two bars of soap outside the door shortly after 8 am. It was a cold night (in the low 40's) and I couldn't figure out how to operate the remote control for the heat/AC unit. Talked to him the next morning and he apologized and gave me instructions. He said he heard from many customers about the difficulty of the remote control and "one day maybe I will put some instructions in the room." Make me wonder why he hasn't done so. I left a note for the cleaning staff for more shampoo/conditioner and a hair dryer (your read it right, no hair dryer in the room) but found no hair dryer when we returned (we stayed for two nights.) On plus side: the room is very spacious with a king-size in the main room and a queen bed in a separate bedroom. The owner did try his best to communicate with me, but I didn't like the fact that I had to ask for things or information. The location is isolated so one must drive 5-6 miles for dinner and 10+ miles for breakfast. WiFi is very unsteady and sometimes unavailable. During my stay, I never interacted with a human being in person. Self check-in and check-out.
Pros: Spacious room.
Cons: No soap and hair dryer in the room upon arrival.
Location: Location is isolated in the middle of nowhere. Must drive 6+ miles to the nearest restaurant for dinner. The closet breakfast is more than 10 miles.
