Lovely room

Posted 22-Sep-2017
Pros: Good sized room. Lovely sea views. Gardens to walk in with a path to the sea front and terrace for sitting on overlooking the bay. Staff very friendly
Cons: The breakfast experience.
Location: Rural location away from St Helier. Hotel access was on a bend up a steepish hill so care has to be taken both going into and leaving the drive.
Room was excellent, a good size and the sea view was wonderful, the bed very comfy. Staff very friendly and helpful. However the experience was let down by breakfast which was a tad disorganised in that we waited for ages some mornings for our coffee/tea order to be taken. Seemed to be pot luck whether you were spotted or not when taking a table as it was free seating. Good in principle but not monitored well enough. Both hot and cold buffet breakfast food choices available however the hot food was often lukewarm rather than hot. Only one tea bag per pot put in for 2 cups making the tea much too weak for my taste and again not hot enough. I noticed that some people brought a tea bag down from their room supply to add to the pot to make it stronger. Good choices of buffet food plus some 'cook to order' choices were also available e.g. kippers. Had dinner there too and the food was very good indeed. The service for dinner was organised and efficient. There were 2 functions taking place whilst we were there so we found it quite difficult to find a parking slot when we came back to the hotel both times due to the extra guests and their cars. No allocated spots for the residents. Also on the Saturday we were pre-warned that the restaurant was being used but we would be served dinner in the bar area instead, which was fine in itself. However what no-one said was that service stopped at the much earlier time of 7.30. Consequently we were too late at 7.20 so had to go out again.

Fabulous hotel, very friendly staff, amazing views

Posted 04-Sep-2017
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Lifts, but not sure if the building would be able to accommodate that.
Location: Fabulous location to beach and waterfront.
We stayed at the Hotel Cristina for 2 nights, but would happily have stayed longer. Great hotel, extremely friendly and helpful staff, amazing views and all round fabulous place. Ideally located. Only slight downside is if you have walking difficulties - no lifts and lots of stairs. But having stated this on booking, the hotel did their utmost to accommodate a low floor room for my mum and she would definitely go back without hesitation. Fabulous.

Excellent views!

Posted 03-Sep-2017
Pros: The fantastic views and friendly staff.
Cons: Warmth of bed clothing: needs to match current temperatures (or possibility of different layers?) The balcony set needs taken care due to sun damage.
Location: Excellent location. We had a car with us so easy to visit anything you want. I would recommend the Wartime tunnels, Grosnez Point and Orgueil Castle.
Warm welcome with clear information and directions. Breakfast buffet plentiful and for all types of diets. We only had a dinner in and it was of very high quality, well presented and served. The pool, clean and peaceful during the late hours of the day (we cannot comment on the other times as we were out visiting the island). Very friendly and polite staff. Room with sea views as booked; clean and comfortable with tea and coffee available. As the room is south facing, it becomes hot and stuffy (just open the balcony door for a few minutes and that's all you need!). Our only issue was that the bed clothing which was too warm for us and made sleeping a bit uncomfortable (we tried to just use the sheets without the duvet filling, but then it was cold...no halfway solution). The set in the balcony didn't look clean but this was only sun damage; probably needs replacing or just add some towel covering. We were informed that a wedding party was going to take place and when the noise was going to cease and they were truthful to the timings. Check out was carried out swiftly and without problems. There is plenty of space in the car parks; the turning into the hotel road is tricky as it is the way out...but you get used to it. Overall a very pleasant time at the hotel and if we go back to Jersey we definitely will book there again.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere

It's nice staying in a smaller hotel as you don't feel crowded or hassled. Lovely view from the room and helpful staff with great food in the restaurant. Would go again.

Clean and friendly

Posted 31-Aug-2017
We recently stayed for our mini honeymoon and the staff were fantastic and the room was spotless with a comfy bed, I would suggest the hotel is a little dated now and we would only go back if there was a great deal on! As nothing to do in walking distance and not the nicest area. Maybe a shuttle bus to the station would have helped,as the hill to the hotel from the sea front is a tough one!

Great hotel, in a quiet location .

Posted 28-Aug-2017
The hotel is located in a quiet area of St Lawrence, with an elevated view of the bay, from St Helier to St Aubin. The manager and staff are very friendly and helpful and gave our holiday a personal touch.
