Excellent place to stay for 1-3 nights. Clean plenty of room and having a small kitchen area was great. Unfortunately the pub next door was shut on a Tuesday so need to revisit on a working day to samples the food.

As mentioned above, I was met by Dawn with a smile, who made me feel very welcome. The service and food were also good. Breakfast was well presented and the checkout staff were also very pleasant and efficient. Generally, a very pleasant stay... I will stay again when I am in the area on business. Well done to all.

I was very pleased with everything generally. The staff were excellent & nothing was too much trouble. The tv in my room wasn`t working, but it was fixed very quickly whilst we were dining & the staff member went out of their way to find me to say he had fixed it.

This hotel is full of character. The floors have original timber floorboards and even have an authentic’creak’ when you walk over them. If you like ‘olde worlde’ places you’ll like staying at the Mansion House. The staff were extremely friendly and polite which really made my stay enjoyable. I stayed over Christmas so there was only a skeleton staff but I had everything I needed and was always warm and comfortable.

Beautiful stay, very friendly made to feel very welcome. Large room and large lounge with free wifi. Comfortable bed. Local pub serves excellent food. I would recommend to friends family and colleagues.

Very clean with welcoming staff. Breakfast had an excellent choice and cooked meal was outstanding. We also had an evening. Meal with friends and this was also excellent with a good choice of food. Our room had everything one could need.

We ariived late in the evening for a weekend break and were welcomed by Dave who showed us to our luxury bungalow. In the bungalow Denise had prepared us a grocery pack which we made full use of with arriving so late. My elderly mum was with us and Dave and Denise really did go above and beyond spoiling us. I needed a overnight stopover on route to Peterborough, so research i did, i located this hidden gem. From the moment of our arrival we where made to feel very much at home. All rooms are exquisitely furnished and extremely comfortable. The main sitting room has beautiful views over Rutland waters. I believe we most probably had the best meal we ever had in England. The chef deserves at least three Michelin stars. Dominique chose some excellent wines for us, he certainly knows his job. Second wonderful stay at the Crown - Fantastic room with rolltop bath, separate shower, lovely big comfortable bed and plenty of space. Very welcoming and friendly staff but beware the stairs! Right in the centre of this beautiful old market town with numerous independent shops, restaurants and pubs, so we'll definitely be back...

One of those rare finds that you almost want to keep to yourself so you can always get a room.. :-) We booked only 3 hours before our 2 night stay so options were limited and we were a bit worried we'd be left with what no-one else wanted. Recently returned from a great four nights stay for our first visit to the Northdale. From arrival to departure everything was Excellent.greeting on arrival by the owners Melanie and Chris and we appreciated the tea and coffee that was provided whilst discussing the hotel and facilities.We booked a twin superior room (1) which is big room and as a very comfortable King size bed.There even a welcome basket of fruit and teas making facilitys which is replaced each day.
