South Tampa is set apart from the rest of the city, taking up most of the Interbay Peninsula. It is almost completely surrounded by water, with Tampa Bay on the west and Hillsborough Bay on the east, and at the far south it comes to an end at the MacDill Air Force Base, which sits at the tip.
