"It is a huge 'Victorian pile' - refurbished lately - it is central, about 5 mins from Betty's tea shop. Breakfast is ok. Other menu a bit ordinary. Staff are good. Didn't try the spa - but it is there if you want it. So, overall OK. Would stay there again."

"Super charming, beautiful, and comfortable. We. Sites with our two teenagers and would definitely stay there again. The only issue was that we were put in ‘the attic’ across the street and had to lug ourselves and our suitcases up 4 flights of stairs! This came as a surprise, as we were only told at check-in that we were on the ‘top floor’. (They really buried the lead) We just kept turning corners to find more stairs -it reached a point of hilarity. Luckily we are able-bodied, I don’t know how anyone with even a dodgy ankle could manage, much less something more serious. We also had to trek back down to the desk later that night for the WiFi password, which meant an extra trip up 70-something steps. The room was a little chilly and there were no extra blankets provided -that would be helpful in the future. Otherwise, a great experience and hope to return someday."
