Great hotel in excellent location

Posted 01-Nov-2016
Pros: Staff are excellent. Breakfast has a large selection of both hot and cold food, with a small oven to warm up croissants, pancakes etc. Location great.
Cons: Only disappointment was closure of roof terrace for repairs to storm damage.
Location: Close to main square and the streets that lead from it, giving access to many restaurants and shops. 10/15 min walk from bus / train station.
Stayed for a week, with two rooms next door to each other, on the 4th floor. This was arranged by the hotel following my request when booking. Amazing view over the bay with Vesuvius in the background. Great location in a small green area, and only a couple if minutes from the main square, shops, restaurants etc, and only 15 mins walk from bus/ train station. Breakfast has a good selection, with staff polite and attentive. Rooms comfortable ( very firm beds might not be right for everyone though) Staff always offering to help and wishing you good morning or evening. Very close to public garden area where there is a lift to the port area for boat trips / ferries. Only disappointment was the closure of the Roof terrace, due to storm damage the previous week, and was under repair.

Pros: The best part of the hotel is the welcoming and accommodating staff.
Cons: Maybe having a heated pool but minor point. That is the only point I can think of!

Lovely hotel in perfect location

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Location: Vesuvius, Pompei, Capri and Naples all very easy to get to. Take care in Naples, no jewellery and wear rucksacks on your front
The Continental is a perfect hotel for exploring the region. We stayed for 5 nights. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly. The buffet breakfast was extensive, with a choice of hot and cold food, cereals, fruit, pastries etc. Our room was on the side on the hotel with a large balcony. The room was very clean and the turn down service in the evening with the weather report for the following day was a lovely touch. We chose to eat twice in the hotel's restaurant at night and the food was amazing. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Unfortunately we were unable to experience the fifth floor terrace as the hotel was preparing for the closed season and this was closed. The Continental is in a perfect location in Sorrento. Just outside is a perfect view of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the distance.

Pros: The location and the views are superb..
The location is perfect, and the views from my room were Amazing. The room was quiet and comfortable, the breakfast had a great variety, and the Happy Hour was very enjoyable. I appreciated the excursions that were available, since it made travelling the Amalfi coast stress-free as well as relaxing. If I'd had more time I would have taken more excursions. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at the Continental. The room was spacious and the view was spectacular. The location is very close to many restaurants and all kinds of shopping, and also for exploring Sorrento. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Super Sorrento Hotel!

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: Very chic and elegant hotel, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable; great staff, great food, great views from the fabulous roof terrace. Excellent!
Cons: Nothing, it was great!
Location: Lovely location & views, pleasant strolls to great restaurants in delightful Sorrento; great transport links to Capri, Pompeii & the Amalfi coast.
We spent a lovely early September (7/9/16 to 14/9/16) week at the hotel, and went home feeling relaxed and rested. The staff were lovely, and looked after us very well; we had a very nice room, clean, tidy and very comfortable; and we had a balcony with lovely 'internal' views - views over the pool area and up to the hills behind Sorrento - lovely sunsets too. There is a fabulous rooftop terrace, with a great restaurant and a cocktail bar - there are stunning views, and it's a wonderful place to relax and unwind, and just gaze at the views over the blue waters of the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius, or over Sorrento up to the surrounding mountains. All the staff were lovely, very welcoming and helpful; housekeeping were very good - the bed was turned down every night, with a chocolate left on each bedside table, and the following day's weather information left for us. The restaurant served lovely food, and the breakfast was amazing.

The nicest hotel in Sorrento!

Posted 13-Sep-2016
Great staff, beautiful rooms with exquisite views! At night, when the deep orange and red sun set, the colored light shimmered on the nearby cliffs, hard to describe the beauty with words...food was wonderful- also hard to describe with words....Beautiful vacation, with the love of my life, who made it even more special and beautiful....can't wait to return!
