Classic Lodges The Old Swan Hotel

8/10 Good

"Very nice hotel but showing it's age in places. (Aren't we all)! My single room was small and felt very old but the bed was comfortable and that's all I needed. I never like small showers but I was only there for two nights. When I arrived the lift was being serviced but a member of staff took me and my luggage up in the service lift so all was well. Breakfast was all that I needed. So despite the small niggles I would recommend The Old Swan hotel."

"Cedar Court is a beautiful hotel with views over The Stray. The staff are extremely helpful, courteous and welcoming. The room was fairly spacious, with a very comfortable bed. My only (minor) criticism is that the heated towel rail in the bathroom was situated too high on the wall (above the toilet) for me to put the towels on to dry. There was nowhere else to put the towels. Apart from that small issue, it was an excellent stay."

"Very disappointed with the volume of dogs in the property. No designated areas in restaurant and one particular dog was allowed to sit on the bench seating unchallenged by staff , very poor management intervention! All bedrooms apparently “dog friendly!” Was not a nice experience and will not be returning. Finally, where was the pool and spa facilities ? Certainly not in the hotel!"

"Personal choice but didn't like the evening menu choices and breakfast was good if poached eggs were cooked better. Mine still had the clear egg slime on them. Staff were brilliant even down to the housekeeping. Room we had was really lovely, modern and a good size. Lots of space in bathroom and a great shower. Free parking was a real bonus. Really enjoyed our weeks stay at golden fleece hotel"
