Hotel was lovely, room was spacious and very clean. Owners were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. The owners could not do enough to help you enjoy your stay. Gave lots of information on the local area and would book restaurants etc if you asked. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had a very pleasant surprise with the property,doesn’t look great from the outside but superb rooms, a very nice kitchen available to use and the rooms were fantastic.The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful, we will Definitely be back.

Very quiet and peaceful

The visit was to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday and the staff were excellent.The evening meal we had for her birthday was very good together with the birthday cake which the management kindly purchased for me.

Amazing host, fantastic breakfast, brilliant old leather chair in room 1. Gareth, the owner couldn't do enough for us. He even gave us a bottle of prosecco for our wedding anniversary (see photo). Highly recommended

Perfection!

Even before arrival Hilary couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We were able to check in a little early without any difficulties. The building was beautiful and the lovely open fire with complementary wine in the lounge was so relaxing. We stayed in the regent room which was really cosy with a huge comfortable bed. Family room was big enough for 3 of us. There was a shower and small toilet and sink. I have noticed that in the wardrobe they even had a cot (which we didn’t need). It’s very nice quirky room with small cupboards that our son absolutely loved. Staff was absolutely brilliant. We arrived too early at 11am however our room was already ready and they gave us a key. No questions asked. We lest our bags and went to museum of flight which is just few miles away. In the evening we had a meal....

Great stay. We arrived a bit early and the room was ready. Close to a tram stop or about a 30 min walk to princes street. Plenty of shops, cafes and bars nearby.

Excellent stay! very friendly and informative staff, lovely tea and coffee making facilities to come back to after a long day, extremely comfy beds - over all 5* experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Dorstan. The B&B is an ideal location to explore Edinburgh being quiet & either a 20min walk or short bus ride to the city centre. The owners were very helpful giving me a map to explore, offering suggestions of places to visit & answering any questions. Breakfast was also served promptly & with a smile.
