"We absolutely loved S&A Vondelpark, our room was on the 3rd floor and the building is so full of character while still having every amenity needed. The common areas and fireplace downstairs are very nice, the staff are friendly and the location is outstanding - vondelpark, cafes, restaurants, shopping are all so.convenient. "clean room and friendly staff. cheap and cheerful. calling the hotel amsterdam south is a bit cheeky though. this is in amstelveen, a dutch commuter town outside amsterdam city limits. the location is in an alright residential area, near a canal off the amstel river, but expect the "authentic" dutch commuter experience of cycling 10-15 min to the tram stop or NS station, or 45 min to centrum. for me this was an upside, but i imagine the average amsterdam tourist does not want this and would rather be closer to the busyness of amsterdam proper. (tip: bikes aren't allowed on trams; and not allowed on trains at peak times, and cost extra. folding bikes are allowed without restriction or cost. i cant imagine staying here being enjoyable without my brompton.) the loss of one star is from poor sound isolation. my neighbors were great, but could be an issue if you are unfortunate enough to get less considerate neighbors."

"We arrived in the evening, left before the sun came up, so hard to rate the environment. Airport shuttles were large, very efficient and regularly scheduled, though pickup time at airport could be affected by traffic and busload. 3 person room worked out well for us. Would stay here again for the same purpose of airport departure."

"The best part of this hotel was the staff, they were amazing!! At all hours of the day or night they were friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our reservation, it did not appear in their system, but they made it work. We also took advantage of the laundry service, they were able to wash some of our clothes, it was not as expensive as other hotels. Though it is not in the city center, there is a tram station nearby and the tram took us right where we needed to go. Also, there is a 24-hour McDonalds next door which we appreciated. We had the breakfast option at the hotel, their hall is nicely decorated and comfy, a great variety, the best one out of all the hotels we had in this tip. A great stay all in all"

"The train station isn’t far and they have bike rental options. Very cute town of Hoofddorp. The hotel was nice but wish they had one queen mattress instead of two double bed mattresses. Bathroom was very clean"
