Booked the hotel and was surprised when checked in the scenery was breath taking and the room with a sea view I got very good value for my money.

Stayed as a stop gap between Scafell Pike and The West Highlands. Good location, just out of a town, but quiet. Lovely rooms, great breakfast, very friendly, efficient staff. The only possible criticisms I could think of are that the rooms could have been more thoroughly cleaned, but we're of a good standard, and it would have been lovely to have an alternative to tea and coffee provided in the rooms (like a mint tea or similar), but these really are pinickity things. This was our second stay at the Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere having previously stayed in February. The hotel is very clean and tidy with a very friendly and helpful reception staff. The onsite parking is great. Our room was a decent size and was very clean with good standard facilities (TV, air-conditioning, complimentary water, hairdryer etc) The spa facilities are acceptable and the only downside to the hotel is it's lack of swimming pool. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We stayed for 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. For us the location was perfect, we enjoyed the walk to the lake and into town, which took about 25 minutes through the lovely gardens of the hotel. We were enchanted by the garden and were lucky enough to look out over them from our room. The staff were very attentive and the facilities were excellent. The only downside is that there is no lift so if you can't do stairs you would need to request a downstairs room.

The apartment was fantastic, plenty of space for relaxing in the lounge, whipping up a quick snack in the kitchen (which was very well equipped with toaster over, stovetop range, cutlery, plates, and a small refrigerator). The bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel is set back far from the small highway, so no noises disturbed our sleep. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower set up, complete with jets that we only discovered on the last day. Also a towel warmer, which was a very pleasant...

The hotel was just at the end of some upgrades. The new bar looks amazing. I only stayed for 2 nights, but when the lady at breakfast found out I am lactose intolerant the next day there was everything I needed to enjoy my breakfast. Thank you

Had a fab stay first time visit to the lakes with my family... Breakfast was delicious filled us up for the day... Quite village was gutted that hotel didn't have Sky TV hence missed the Aston villa game as most Local pubs would only allow children in till 9.00 pm... Would stay again... Was disappointed with the wifi as took our Amazon stick for kids to watch films but we had no internet connection

We had the most enjoyable 5 days at the hotel, the staff were very accommodating, the breakfast was wonderful as was the evening meal my only preference would be an-alternative evening menu occasionally

Great stay, hotel is immaculate and staff are very friendly. We were offered vouchers to redeem at the bar for drinks instead of maid service which we took. Maid still came in one day which was nice. We arrived on a Saturday and it was very busy. There was a wedding on so lots of kids running around. If you’re looking for a quiet trip book another day and avoid the weekends if you can. Lovely hotel, fabulous friendly staff. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had in a hotel, letting you choose exactly what you want so it’s made to order and piping hot. Will definitely be back - loved it.

Such a pleasant suprise, a beautiful hotel with clean rooms. Slightly dated but in condition. Gorgeous views and very friendly staff. There is also a lovely spa. Within a good distance from Lake windemere, ambleside and bowness walks (about 30 minutes). This is a beautiful and well priced spot for the south lake district exploring, highly recommend!

We wanted to use this hotel as a springpoint to visit Buttermere and this side of the Lakes. We stayed in an Executive Room. It was spacious and felt brand new- the bathroom in paritcular looked new. The bed was super - and extremely wide! We had driven up here after staying for a night in Liverpool and after a testing drive, it was great to find that they had left some (very tasty) port in the bedroom for us.
