Find hotels in San Isidro from £36

The best area to stay in San Isidro is in the town centre, particularly around the main square, Parque Central.

This area is the heart of San Isidro, providing easy access to local amenities and a glimpse into daily life. Accommodation options here often include boutique hotels and guesthouses, many of which are within walking distance of the central market, local eateries, and shops.

For travellers looking for a convenient base to explore the surrounding natural beauty, staying near Parque Central is ideal. It offers direct access to public transport for day trips, such as to the Guayabo National Monument or the Turrialba Volcano. Couples might appreciate the ease of finding a nice dinner or a coffee without needing to travel far.

For those seeking a more tranquil experience while still being close to the town's facilities, the areas just outside the immediate centre, slightly uphill, offer a quieter setting. These spots often provide lovely views of the valley and mountains, and some accommodations feature gardens or larger grounds.

The best time to go to San Isidro is during the dry season, which runs from December to April.

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny weather and lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. This period is great for outdoor activities like hiking, birdwatching, and visiting coffee plantations without the interruption of daily rain showers. For travellers seeking a comfortable and active holiday, this is definitely the best window.

The shoulder months of November and May can also be good options. While there might be occasional rain, it's usually not enough to disrupt plans, and you might find slightly fewer crowds and good value on accommodation.
