Best location in Cartago for a hotel. Beds are not Marriott but they are clean and rooms are big enough for 3-4 people. The restaurant is good and not very expensive. The breakfast is nice and when they have the outdoor breakfast bar is probably my favorite experience of this hotel. If you’re going to be in Cartago, this is the best place to say. Very reasonably priced. Most of the staff is bilingual in Spanish and English.

This Hotel is amazing. It's easy to find and there restaurant also has amazing service and food. Parking is private and secure they have a great run behind the rooms on the main level if you are looking for pet friendly. Highly recommend this Hotel.

I can rave about Hotel y Restaurante El Guarco. What a pleasant stay we had! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The service was outstanding. The food was much better than expected; it was not your typical institutional-type menu or food. Breakfast was equally enjoyable with numerous choices, all expertly presented with a smile as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cartago area. It was a treat.

Hotel El Guarco rooms were very clean & comfortable. Staff were very helpful & kind. The linens & towels were so white & had a lovely clean fragrance. The incuded breakfasts wre truly amazing & presentation was impeccable! We could walk to numerous other retaurants or fast food establishments for dinner meals. We were there for 6 days, & would have enjoyed a pool & lounges to enhance our stay. But we made lounges out of the benches on the balcony, by adding pillows to recline on. Also, since located in a high traffic area, it was quite noisy day & night.

I loved the food and staff. Bed was a bit firm for me but room was beautiful. Only downfall is do not follow the map expedia has linked to this hotel it is the wrong location! Hopefully expedia can update this for future tourists
