disappointed

Posted 10-Feb-2017
Disappointed in our recent stay as compared to stays at other Warwicks. Very clean and located in a good area in regards to shopping and eating. As for the staff, there is very little initiative taken. Instead of offering services or assistance, you would have to ask for anything and everything - "can you help me load my bags", "Can you send a staff member to my room with a cart for my luggage." Reply: "Did you need help loading it or do you just want the cart to load it yourself." As for valet, that is another nightmare. I have posted previously before, but the hotel has about 1 or 2 spaces in front of the hotel for valet and it appears as only 1 valet employee per shift. If you pull up and the spaces are full, then you have to wait until those vehicles are moved. Many times I had to drive around the block until I could park. Valet doesn't meet you at the vehicle either which is very strange to me. We would park, unload our vehicles (without assistance) and then drop the keys off at the desk for it to be valet. I rarely saw the valet employees. The hotel is aged due to the building, but all the designs and features are updated and clean; however, the old spell from the hotel is very strong. After a day or so, you can get used to it. But it was something that bothered my wife. The cleaning crew was excellent. If we were not ready in the morning, they offered to come back at anytime until 2pm. They always took care of us, giving us extra towels and blankets for our little one

Perfect for theatre

Posted 07-Feb-2017
Pros: Location, early check in, responsive staff.
Cons: Room thermostat very complicated to adjust.
Attractive, quiet room. Walked across the street to theatre performance in evening.

Last minute trip

Great hotel, pricy, but you pay for what you get. Although parking is terrible , its either $52 valet or $20 parking around the corner. Oh yeah, in the middle of bard and clubs , so expect drunk people yelling and crying at 3 am down your hall. But overall it was great.

Great location

This hotel has a great location. It's in the center of the city next to all of the great shops and wonderful dining. You can even walk to Fishermen's Wharf- it's about 1.5 miles but it's a nice walk. The only problem is that you can hear everything the person in the room above you is doing. You can even hear them walking. I suggest you get a room on the top floor!

Just what we were looking for. Convenient location and cozy. Old hotel, so small rooms, but clean, updated and good price.

Terrible Hotel, go somewhere else

Posted 16-Dec-2016
It started with the hotel staff being very vague about where their parking garage was. They said it was next door but it was actually two blocks away. The front desk staff told me they couldn't give me a room because it was too late at night and I had to download an app to book it online. When I got up to my room I found that my window was directly across from another building and the window looked out to another persons apartment. I tried to close the blinds for privacy but they wouldn't close. So the person in the next building could see clearly into my room. I called the front desk and asked to be moved to a different room but they lied and said they were all sold out. When 5 minutes prior they told me they released all their available rooms to Expedia, which meant they must have still had plenty of rooms left. I later went down to the hotel bar for a drink. The bartenders were very neglectful. It took them a while to come to me and take my drink order even though they weren't busy at all. I asked for a glass of water 4 times before I got sick of waiting and had to go to the bar top and get it myself, all the meanwhile the server who was waiting on me was flirting with someone at the bar and ran to get my water before I could get it myself. I'm a bartender too and I know I shouldn't have to be told more than once to get something for a guest. All around terrible hotel staff. The only good thing about the hotel was it's location.

Small room

Posted 29-Nov-2016
The staff was kind enough to give us the room prior to the standard check-in, but the room and the bathroom were very small and not at all special.
