Good Central Location

Pros: Location, Location, Location
Cons: My only down-side to this experience was a room full of partying people next to ours but after calling the Hotel staff they put a stop to it.
Location: No lack of places to shop in the Union Square area. BEAUTIFUL during the holidays!
it's only a 1 or 2 minute walk to Union Square, 5 to 10 minutes from the Cable Cars, Beautiful Mall, and BART/MUNI. Instead of paying the high cost of daily parking at the hotel you can walk less than 5 minutes to a parking garage for a fraction of that price.

Great service from check-in onwards

Pros: Jeff was great, but all the staff were helpful and kind.
Cons: The Concierge Lounge should be open on weekends as it is in most European cities.
Location: Union Square was so close and it is an easy walk to the Bart Station.
We were so impressed with Jeff on the front desk - he welcomed and assisted us it's th most pleasant and helpful manner, and that set the tone for our stay at this Marriott. We would recommend this hotel, and their ongoing upgrading was unobtrusive - well done, Marriott!

First time Visit To SF.

Cons: Nice staff. Location. Very clean. Helpful in all ways.
Location: Union Square, shopping, tours.
We decided on a last minute trip to SF. Picked this hotel because of location. It was wonderful from start to finish. Very nice staff. Perfect location to everything. Room was perfect.

Great Experience

I'd never stayed before at this hotel in San Francisco, and I've stayed in a LOT of hotels in San Francisco. I booked it because it was rated so highly by visitors, and because I wanted a hotel within walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. It's rather unimpressive on the outside. I had a brief stay, and eat in the hotel, but the doorman was quick and helpful when I made a complicated entry with luggage from a rental car, the desk staff was also quick and very helpful, and my room was very nice, with stunning views in two directions. I was on 26. The hotel is evidently renovating and warned of noise in the daytime. My floor had evidently already been finished and I heard no construction, though even from far above the busy Powell/Union Square activity can be heard. Hotels in San Francisco get so much business that it sometimes seems to me they don't try very hard. It was a pleasure to see a hotel place such an emphasis on good service.

Close to Union Square

Pros: Location is great.
Cons: Needs to be remodeled. All employees need to treat customers like valued guests.
Check in was a nightmare because of a testy and inconsiderate employee. I expect much more of Marriott. Other employees -- doorman, security and restaurant-- were great. But it leaves a bitter taste when the first person you meet is difficult and condescending. We will stay elsewhere the next time.

great location and very nice staff

concierge was so friendly and helpful. We were only there for 2 nights so location was important. Concierge gave great restaurant suggestions and was able to get us into restaurants that we wanted t try. Room was clean, roomy and quiet. Have stayed here before and will continue to select this hotel when visiting San Fran

Crazy Expensive, don't get much

700 a night for a little tiny room. Biggest waste of money ever.
