Disappointment

Posted 12-Nov-2016
The receptionist was rude and arrogant regarding Marriott points not allowed. The room heater/furnace clanked all night, there was an emptiness to the hotel even though it was at Union Square in SF. Staying in SF numerous times throughout the year, I have yet to experience this attitude and lack of friendliness of staff. The restaurant, albeit empty, was very good with the chef coming out to talk to us and bring us chocolate dipped strawberries. That was the only time I felt comfortable. I will not return to JW Marriott in SF.

Great hotel int he heart of Union Sq.

Cons: Level III staff should pay attention to customers who are there!
The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, clean and comfortable.Free Illy coffee in the room. The layout of the hotel is q little overwhelming - it's huge with a large open atrium. The only negative experience I had was that I booked an early luncheon for a business meeting and the Level III restaurant staff was inattentive to us while they were setting up the room. Other than that, quite a good experience.

Good night's sleep!!!!!

Posted 04-Oct-2016
Pros: Nice and comfortable bed and bedding. Had most of the things we needed.
Cons: Didn't have slippers, sit down make-up table with good lighting. Furniture needs updating.
Location: Very convenient location.
Good very central location. Some things need improvement. I am comparing it JW MARRIOTT in phoenix, Arizona. That one is amazing. The one in San Francisco can improve.

We enjoyed our stay at JW Marriott. The location is perfect for visiting the city. The rooms/baths were very nice and met our expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting San Francisco.

Base for San Francisco tourist exploration

Pros: Location
Cons: Most things...see above commentary. JW Marriot needs to review its management of this facility
Location: 2 blocks to Union Square
Good location but a tired hotel needing a reappraisal by its management team. No one to meet our taxi on arrival nor advise us that reception lobby 2 floors up. No one at reception desk on arrival. Room not clean and damaged sheets on the bed. Bed was comfortable and staff improved things somewhat after discussing arrival short comings. Poor hotel design allows noise from the bar to infiltrate the hotel; this should be managed by bar staff.
