Great Stay at a Small, Chic Hotel

Posted 26-Jun-2017
We were very pleased with our room - the bathroom was large and updated. The only down side was that the weather was unseasonably warm for San Francisco, and since there is no AC in the rooms, the ceiling fan was our only respite. The staff, especially Ann and Enoc, were very helpful in recommendations for navagating the city and what to see. The continental breakfast and warm cookies each evening was a very nice touch. We would absolutely stay at this Inn again.

Oh Dayna we too just love our Carerra marble bathrooms, a bit of luxury while you are away form home! Our breakfast allows our guests to head out and about and savor our gorgeous City without the wait of a restaurant... and who doesn't love to return in the evening to the smell of fresh baked cookies? We are only sorry to learn our usually hot weather (which the San Francisco is the high 70's) put a bit of a damper of your time spent in your room, learning your ceiling fan offered a bit of a respite is a relief. Thank you so very much Dayna for sharing your experience while you stay with us... Enoc and I were happy as clams to meet you and your husband and we are just delighted to read we were able to assist you in exploring and enjoying our gorgeous City by the Bay! Please know Dayne when you are ready to return we will be here with bells on to welcome you back! Warmly, Ann

Wonderful location, great spot

Super helpful staff and an amazing location. Literally steps from union square and transport. Daily breakfast is solid and there's little treats in the common areas throughout the day.

The gentleman at the front desk in the morning and afternoon was amazing. He went out of his way to make our stay special. It was unfortunate that all the staff wasn't as helpful and attentive. Overall the stay was really nice, the rooms quiet and comfortable. Great location.

Old Style San Francisco Hotel

Posted 23-Jun-2017
Charming and comfortable. The hop-on/hop-off stop is directly across the street and the cable car stop is at the corner about 200 feet away. The rooms are smaller but very well appointed and modern. We stayed on the 3rd floor and breakfast was served down the hall as was wine and cheese in the late afternoon. Bottles of water and sodas are complimentary. Concierge service (essentially the front desk staffer) from early morning until 11 at night and there is an overnight person if required. It's a short easy walk to Union Square and to many restaurants and bars. I would note this is is not a place for kids and there were no kids during our stay. On our next visit we won't bother to look elsewhere as we found Inn at Union Squre to be ideal.

Dearest Keith, We are just so grateful for your very kind words about our lovely little Inn, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with fellow travels! We were pleased to you mentioned our expanded continental breakfast we layout each morning and our wine and cheese each evening, in addition to mentioning we happily provided our guests with complimentary bottles of water and sodas... the Inn offer such a unique experience with lots of little added extras (fresh baked cookies every night laid out on all the floors), we want it to feel like your home away from home! We are pleased as punch to learn our excellent location allowed you easy access to the Hop on Hop off Bus (literally right across the street) as well as either the shops or Cable Cars on Union Square (we're 1/2 a block away)... as well as fabulous dining options! We cannot wait for your return visit to your new home away from home in San Francisco... oh and by the way we do truly adore children, so if you have them please do bring them... we find our cookies are an especially big hit with them! Wishing you and yours and the safest and happiest of travels... Warmly, Ann

So much to like- exceeded expectations

Posted 14-Jun-2017
Pros: Location, Room quality, complimentary wifi, breakfast, wine service, turn-down service all included. generous thoughtful provisions.
Cons: cant think of anything! just keep up the good work
Location: Right next to Union Sq (but not actually IN the square) - ideal as you can be close to the heart of action but not the noise
This is a small, private, boutique hotel. we stayed for 3 nights on a short holiday to SF. Never been to SF before, so we were pleasantly surprised at the excellent location of the hotel- right next to Union Sq, which is the centre of downtown SF. We arrived earlier than check-in time but staff stored our luggage and offered us a lounge room/ dining room where we could rest/ refresh (with bathroom facilities) whilst waiting for room to be ready. Breakfast and wine service served everyday in the cosy dining room- although the range of food/drink available was not extensive (continental breakfast) but was perfectly adequate, freshly prepared and delicious. Wine service each evening included selection of red/white wine and cheese board and fruit. Daily turn down service, with complimentary chocolates; Each floor had a small sitting room at the end of the corridor, with games, complimentary cookies (baked fresh daily!) & fruit provided daily. Our room was larger than expected (for an inner city hotel), king-sized bed which was very comfortable, clean, modern and well presented. Hotel was quiet (smaller boutique hotels like these generally are compared to large chain ones) overall we had a very pleasant comfortable stay, and the quality of the service and provisions really exceeded our expectations. Especially considering it is well priced compared to other downtown hotels in SF -which were older, smaller rooms, not as nice. oh, and checkout is 12pm - not too early!

Oh Jenifer you are just so very thoughtful taking time from your busy schedule to share such a comprehensive review regarding your recent stay in our lovely little Inn, we are very grateful! We are truly honored you chose to us for your first visit to San Francisco and that you had a memorable experience. You’ve help paint a picture of what we think makes the Inn such a unique and special experience, experience, special, namely our staff, and all the our included extras such as breakfast, and the wine hour in our lounge, our parlors which are ideal for relaxing and we hope foster the opportunity to meet and chat with our other guests over a board games or if you prefer just read a book while you snack on a fresh piece of fruit… and best of all our fresh baked, warm cookies laid out on each floor after 8 o’clock each night… all of this while you are right off Union Square, in the center of everything but away from it all! Thank you so much for staying with us… we wish you and yours the safest and happiest of travels. Warmly, Ann

Short Trip in SF

Posted 24-May-2017
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, updated bathroom. two televisions (suite). great staff.
Cons: Nothing except AC may be necessary in mid-summer (or not - do not know SF climate well enough to say)
Location: Near Union Square shopping, cable car to Fisherman's wharf, Coit tower, China Town, etc..
We were in SF for three days and wanted to be in downtown area (near Union Square) and chose this hotel for location. It turned out to be a good choice. It was conveniently located to everything in the downtown area and was reasonably priced for the neighborhood. Valet parking was expensive but this is the same for all hotels in the area. The room was extremely nice and updated with big screen TV in living and bed room (we had a suite) and the only thing missing was AC which you do not really need in SF until "maybe" mid-summer. The continental breakfast had many good options and each evening was a wine and hors d'oeuvres social hour. In short the hotel contributed greatly to a lovely trip.

A gem just next to Union Square.

Posted 24-May-2017
This small boutique hotel is close to Union Square. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and comfortable. Fresh cookies are available at the end of each floor and coffee available in the dining area all day. There is wine and hors d'oeuvres each evening bringing travelers together. Highly recommended

No Air Conditioning; hot room.

Posted 22-May-2017
Pros: quiet
The lack of air conditioning and ineffectual ceiling fan was a comfort killer. Also, the elevator is on its last legs.
