Great location, fun hotel, cool rooms
The rooms were small but nicely furnished and had a fun, hippie decor. Everything was clean and well organized, the bed was comfortable, and the pod espresso machine in the room was a nice touch. We had a fridge, which we didn't expect to have, although it didn't get very cold and we were told it was more of a "chiller" than a true fridge. It worked to keep water and iced coffee cold, although I don't know if food would spoil in it. The street noise was loud at night, so we had to sleep with ear plugs. I liked that the toiletries were eco-friendly, and instead of single-use bottles, there were refillable pump bottles for shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and body wash.
We played pool every day we were there. We were there for a week, and had the game room pretty much to ourselves every time. The other "games" were meh, and the ski ball machine wasn't working, but having a free pool table was awesome.
The valet parking is ungodly expensive! Look for another place to park if you have a car with you. It was nice to be able to call down and have our car ready for us within 5 min. But if we ever go back, we'll find another place to park, there are quite a few nearby.
The bar had a nice lounge-y area, but there was a much better cocktail bar two doors down, Bar 587. Amazing, inventive cocktails!
We walked EVERYWHERE, although we love walking, and only got the car to drive to East bay. Called a Lyft twice when walking through iffy neighborhoods at night.
