"The Avis rental was just fine but what I’m very unhappy about is Expedia’s sale of collision damage insurance. Turns out it is NOT part of the rental from Avis so if anything goes wrong you still have to pay Avis and then presumably try to get your money or part of it back from Expedia’s insurer. And buried deep in the terms is the exclusion of people over 70. So I paid as much as a day of rental to Expedia for nothing. They know my birthday, I’m pretty annoyed. "

"In the past 12 months we’ve stayed in some 30 hotels from Australia to the UK, France and The Netherlands and this would have to be one of the best!! Our room was really well thought out and obviously designed to make one’s stay as easy and pleasurable as possible. It featured a compact kitchenette with a good sized fridge with a freezer section, a fold down table that was easily big enough for 2 c/w 2 folding chairs that can be stowed in the robe, plus 2 comfortable armchairs and a good size coffee table. Bathroom included a heated towel rail which comes in very handy when like us, you’re on the road for several months and need to wash some smalls. Staff were absolutely fantastic and most helpful. The only downside was the restaurant isn’t open for dinner at the weekend and the menu is limited, mainly to pizzas!! "

"I stayed at Appart Hôtel Mer & Golf City Bordeaux Bruges for 16 days while recovering from surgery, and I really enjoyed the stay. The pond/lake behind the hotel is really just lovely to walk around and I enjoyed the ducks, turtles and beavers there! There is also a grocery store in the same parking a lot, which was extremely convenient. There's also a tram station a 5-10 minute walk away, which was also very convenient. The kitchenette in the room was a little more spacious than other hotels and completely met my needs. My fridge whined at first but they quickly swapped it out for another one and I had no further issues. The room was clean and its condition was pretty good. Housekeeping came by daily to take out the garbage and change towels if needed, and changed sheets and did a more thorough cleaning when I asked (just once for my stay). The staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Overall I became very fond of the place and was a little sad to leave."

"Decent budget hotel on the outskirts of Bordeaux. Good trams nearby. There was a rugby match on the night of arrival so very busy. Good restaurant next to the hotal. Staff worked very hard and were fantastic 👏 "
