Fairlight, Stunning Self Catering in Ryde. Close to Beach and Amenities

Adequate family house, good position, probably better in Summer.…

Property rather on the tired side, and cold and damp/musty smelling when we arrived, though heating very good once we managed to get it working. Bedrooms very good and well appointed, but kitchen and dining only just big enough for 6 people rather than 10, to cook and eat in. Snug lounge was certainly very cosy and relaxing, but only for 5 people, and the lighting was poor for reading - other lounge was an odd mix of lounge/utility room with door to toilet, outside door, gas boiler, fridge and washing machine as well as the two nice sofas with cushions. Worked well with small children as a sort of playroom/TV room. Good wifi and two amazing TVs, but very tricky to get them up and running, so ended up watching TV on our laptop by streaming. Little use of garden because of the time of year, would be a great space in the Summer months. Drive very narrow, so tried it once but gave up on it, not wanting to scrape car along the metal gates, so only really good for one car parked in road across the driveway....not that easy to find space for other car in the road. Mildly inconvenient, but would be trickier in the busy Summer months. House very well placed for all the amenities of the town and the beach/seafront, and that outweighed some of the issues with the property itself.
