"For us it was very much a functional pit-stop that was good value for money compared to the increasingly expensive competition. The hotel and room is fairly tired & basic but was quiet and what we needed."

"We had a very lovely stay. The room was brilliant— dulex double ! The view was stunning. We loved that it was out a bit but still close to Dumfries for a wee wander."

"I enjoy my stay at the Golden Lion. The food is good and the staff are helpful. The room was clean but found the ensuite rather tight for space especially with the step to the shower."
The Birchtree Hotel

"We stayed just the one night. The staff were very friendly and eager to provide good service. We enjoyed a pleasant drink on the lovely patio overlooking the river followed by a tasty meal in the bar. Breakfast was excellent . Our room was fairly basic with quite a small ensuite . The WiFi was good. We were pleased with our stay which represented good value."

"lovely two night stay in the very reasonably priced Kings Arms Hotel, Lockerbie. The staff were very helpful & friendly and the room was newly refurbished and decorated. Dinner was delicious - I would recommend the steak pie !"

"Everything went very well except that on our second morning the hot items for breakfast still were not out at 6:40 am so we had to leave without it."
